So today I watched my first Miyazaki film and it was Princess Mononoke  I loved it. It was kind of confusing at times haha but I thought it was a great movie and I loved all the landscapes and everything it was so beautiful! Anyway I know there are a lot of other Miyazaki films and I was wondering what ones you guys like/think would be good to watch next.

My favorite is Spirited Away. ^^ Also really love My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. Their new movie, When Marnie Was There, looks really good judging by the trailers.

Studio Ghibli films are definitely among my favorite movies of all time. I remember watching Spirited Away when I was very young, though Princess Mononoke was one of my favorites because of the soundtrack. It was beautiful. So was The Wind Rises was also beautiful, and kinda hits home for me as Hayao Miyazaki's swansong. No more movies directed by him :frowning2:

Otherwise, The Cat Returns is phenomenal by Ghibli. So is My Neighbor Totoro. I'd recommend watching those too.

Scratch that, just watch all of them. Miyazaki was a genius storyteller. It's a shame he's not directing them anymore.

I love all of Miyazaki's films! You should watch as many as possible, the storytelling and animation are just beautiful. My favorites as a kid were My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns, and Kiki's Delivery Service. Another movie I just HAVE to recommend is Wolf Children. not Miyazaki, but I think it was by people from his company(?) it remains one of my favorite movies to this day.

I know other people already recommended it, but everyone must watch Spirited Away, the creatures in it show off studio ghiblis art so well, and its such an amazing story as well. I also really love Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

I love all of Studio Ghibli's works. I really wish there were more of them! My favorite will probably always be Howl's Moving Castle, apart from that I like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (nobody wants to mention it apparently) and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Princess Mononoke is my favorite. Beautiful deep woods, giant wolf gods, kind of hits on more than a few things I love. Kiki's Delivery Service is another I like a lot, it's sort of like a comfort movie for me. I used to watch it every summer before I went away to college. I also like the parallels drawn between magic and creativity, and finding your own talent and way of doing things.

They have good films. They're like Disney, you can expect a certain standard of quality. Some exceptional films and some that are sub-par, Mononoke is outstanding, The Car Returns — not so much.

I have seen quite a few. If I had to pick a favourite, I suppose it would be Princess Monoke right now.

I agree with Kem, they are comparable to Disney. However, I find that Studio Ghibli knows how to punch you in the heart strings, where as Disney just kind of gives them a pat. At least, that's how it's been for me

Definitely just watch all of them.

Kiki's Delivery Service was actually my very first experience with anything Japanese (I was like 6 or 7 when I saw it). And well...look at me now! XD I used to own the DVD, but it got worn out (which I didn't think was possible...)

My favourites are (in no order) Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, The Wind Rises, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, and Castle in the Sky.

Btw you guys, there's a Mononoke Hime stage production. Field trip anyone?

So...I had to google the studio/director and I LOVE Spirited Away. I saw it around 3 years ago, but never knew the name of it until now. I've been trying to find it for ages.
