Have You Tried Reading A Book You've Read A Long. time Ago?

    I did that with Eragon, and it's not as good as I remember it to be. I couldn't read through the prologue without putting it down.

    Has anything similar happened to you, or did it enhance the your enjoyment of reading the book?

    I've read many books many times. I love re-reading a book and discovering new things I hadn't picked up on the first readthrough, or things I'd forgotten.

    Usually, it's a great experience... but if the book isn't that good to begin with, it can be pretty painful. I can't read Eragon without the little "editor" voice in my head being critical of the style and characters and languages, but it's an entertaining read if I tell myself not to take it seriously.

    This is also true of books I liked as a kid -- I still love them to bits, but I'm not a kid anymore!
