I've just logged on. Randomly my computer tells me my version of vista isn't genuine. And i don't have a product key to enter. I got it refurbished but this is the first time such a thing as occured. This computer just DOESN'T LIKE ME. D: Any ideas?
Windows Genuine Advantage (*cough, cough, die*) has been known to turn up false positives (or negatives if you prefer). Don't get too worried about it unless it happens repeatedly or if you are missing a mission critical update.
It was just annoying that a pop-up thing came on when I booted up. It's fine now though. Read the instructions I have. aha.
LOL @ mac people Yeah macs are good for people who don't use computers for real things, and have a lot of money to waste on computers that are like 3 times the prices of regular computers that are like the exact same thing.
A PC doesn't last as long as a Mac. There have been tests made and comparisons with Apple and non-Apple computers that have shown after 20 years, a mac can still run as good as new, while a PC can barely start. Even the newer macs last longer. My G3 iBook which I bought second hand is 7 years old and can run Tiger fast. Who can say that their 7 year old base model PC can run XP/Vista fast??
You just wait, now that I've read this thread my computer will do the same for me. D: And just when I manage to find a new charger.
Agreed. And agreed. I think I'll just make my own super Operating system. One which is like MASTER SUPER DUPER LINUX/MAC OSX...but no windows coding in there. My operating system will remain blue screen free thank-you very much.
Oh yeah, If this happens to anyone, just look for the blue sticker somehwere on your computer. It'll have barcode and holograms on it, with MICROSOFT plastered on somehwere. In little writing you should find product key...just type it in, and your good to go. Well....as far as one can go with vista.... I might partition my hard drive...and re-install ubuntu again....
VISTA IS FAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLL! install Linux... I've used it for five years and it's awesome... and free... and Macs are based on Unix anyway
