Series 3 starts tonight and I cannot wait I came across it at the same time I started taking my sexuality seriously just before I signed up here, it's been a very powerful series and has struck a few chords with me. Obviously my favourite part is Jude and Connor, I just think they're so adorable and cute! I love how the reality of young gay teens has been brought right into the mainstream, we endlessly see young boys and girls discovering love for the first time but young gay love has been a no go area for far too long.
One question: How do they make enough money to live in a house in San Diego that probably costs easily over a million dollars, given the size and art and crafts era woodwork/ interior detail?...and then to also afford all those kids? It's one aspect that has never made sense to me. I know foster parents get reimbursed a bit, but it seems like they're living in some unreal luxury world that makes it hard to relate to. Maybe the police officer mom has some shady things going on, on the side to supplement their income? Interesting show, but doesn't seem realistic in socio-economic terms. I'd like to a version where they have to make do with less money; it feels too glamorous.
When you consider a San Diego Police Corporal earns between $69-76k and Lena will earn between $60-90k it's not so hard to realise.
I suppose so. Still, I find it hard to relate to the picture perfect nature of it. I like what the show promotes, but the setting annoys me, far too much of a Hollywood-cookie-cutter-ness about it. But I'm very fussy about TV and films! I wonder if the BBC did a version, how it would be. Or a version in a trailer park. You never really see anyone poor in these kinds of shows; TV seems to showcase the more well-to-do.
Make sure to catch Becoming Us, too! I absolutely love the Fosters. It's a series that I really got attached to. I especially love Jude and Connor. Omg, Connor... he's going to be such a sexy man one day. <3

Just finished watching the first episode of season 3... JONNOR JONNOR JONNOR JONNOR JONNOR JONNOR JONNOR!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 This is my favorite LGBT TV couple since Cam and Mitch on Modern Family! And WOW. I totally called what happened in the car crash. For the sake of those who haven't seen it yet, I won't say but... OMG! I love this show so much.
Ooh yes! I love Jonnor! This show is so good... And Callie though! AND MARIANNA!!!! I can't wait until next week!
