The ring vs ringu. With should i watch?

I suppose if you want the original source material, go with Ringu. But if you want something that is better translated for western audiences, go with The Ring. The cultural touches are what draw you into the movie, so unless you're well aware of Japanese customs and society, some things may go past you in Ringu.

I didn't find The Ring all that great of a movie, but at least it felt creepy when watching Ringu. Maybe you'll have a different experience.

 

Better yet read the Ringu trilogy

 

Omg, yes! I've only read the Ringu, but I want to find the other two and read them~~ it was so good I read it straight through~~

As for the movies... I usually like the Japanese ones better, but this time I liked the Western version~ I think it had to do with a lot more of the reasons behind what was happening and backstory and all, whereas the Japanese version seemed to be more to the point.

Also, unless you're looking for a comedy, don't watch the second Ring XD;;;;;;

 

I saw both and liked The Ring more because the plot was more developed.

 

Deffo Ringu. It was the first whole horror movie I watched and I love it to this day. Please don't watch some bad american remake of it. Watch the original. Literally, I hate how america always have to take foreign movies and tv shows and americanize them. It's retarded. The original is almost always better.

All of the originals are sooo much better, made by actual artists. American producers pretty much just take the exact same plot but remove anything that made the original version interesting.
