My current show im watching is Torchwood, because Ianto makes me feel warm and fuzy inside (and the show itself is good, heh) but i was thinking after that i would move on to something else with atleast some Gay themes in it.

Ive never watched Queer as Folk US, but i heard its really good, i heard its really bad, and i heard only the first two seasons are good. I cant get a clear picture on if its worth finding (cause i wont be renting it, the video store is run by the church i swear, like everything else here)

Also if anyone has a substitute show for it, fire away! Im open to anything. Here is what i like:

    - Britishy, if its understandable
    - Si-Fi, if the special effects are not...yea...
    - *good* sit-coms
    - super romantic, in a well done way
    - maybe something with a guy you watch more than the show itself

Any ideas? Ive watched alot of Doctor Who, Will and Grace and Torchwood. Some QAF UK and Dante's Cove, but thats about it.

QAF isn't bad. It's kind of addicting, and I would say go for it.

The best show I have ever seen is a reality show, and I usually hate them. It is called The Mole. It is very smart, very funny, and super exciting.

This show isn't about popularity, it's about smarts. There really is no limit to the good things I can say about this show. They have 4/5 US seasons on youtube. They also have the UK and Australia versions which aren't near as good. Definately, check out the first season it is the best.

    Ok thank you badwolf

The Mole i watched part of the last season, and it was a riot to watch. But once you miss one episode its just worthless.

QAF US is pretty good once they stopped following the British plotlines. That is, they were remaking the British show for a while and they were not good remakes. Once they "came into their own" they got a lot better, although the series always suffered from "issue of the episode." That is, oh look, this episode someone got married, this episode someone was bashed, this episode someone did online porn, this episode someone lost their job because they were gay, this episode someone dated someone a lot older than them, this episode someone dated someone a lot younger than them... ad infinitum. And I do think the first few seasons (1 through 3 maybe) were better than the last 2. But considering there's very little else out there that is gay and ongoing, it's worth checking out.

i thought QAF US was really good, it was teh first show that i got really into teh story line, like almost cried at the sad bits. i dont usually do that.

oh and it sounds nerdy but Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis are both brilliant, special effects are superior to all and the story lines are interestig. i reccommend both.

Boston Legal i think is hilarious, oh and Arrested Development< but i have known just a many people to hate it with a passion as those who love it.

i could go on but i probably shouldn't
oh oh oh and Dexter is brilliant, least the first season is, i havent seen the 2nd one and have heard that it drops it's game a bit in the 2nd one.
but the first i found to be really intriguing and different.

ok and thats where i am drawing my line, i watch lots of series (not actual tv really, just download and watch series)
    anyway stopping now...

Thanks for the insight guys! Im definitely going to "Test out the water" on QAF US to see if i like it, and i might try Stargate SG-1 since my friend who i came out to has all the seasons. (I was more into Doctor Who when she was trying to get me to watch them)

ooh i wanna watch that show so bad, altho i cant
cuz my family will soon realize i'm watching gay themed drama,
which will probably give away my secret...
but i know Torchwood is really good!!
it's sorta sci-fi, alien type thing, and it's not lame or anything like that...
the actor in it(John Barrowman) is actually gay,
and it does have some gay themes too so u'll def enjoy it!!

Dexter is phenomenally good, but I also found the Stargate shows to be cheap Star Trek rip-offs. Not cheap so much as poor production values (they're relatively slick) but not much story-wise/character-wise. Kinda like a live-action cartoon. If you want cool sci-fi, try Battlestar Galactica, especially the miniseries and first 2 seasons.

Yay for torchwood and doctor who! I <3 those shows. People never have a clue what's I'm talking about though around here.

I enjoyed QAF-US, never got a chance to see the original British series. A sitcom I really like right now is How I Met Your Mother. It's so funny to watch Neil Patrick Harris as a womanizing straight man. I don't know if you like this genre, but I really enjoy Bones. CSI/anthropology stuff. It's entertaining and full of science haha.
