Well, the spin off of the Walking dead is less than a month away. Anyone excited for it?

TBH, I never got into TWD. I prefer Romero's old zombie films like Night, Dawn and Day, and I like Return of the Living Dead a bit as well, but then again, I'm not much of a zombie guy in general.

So what did everyone think about the first episode? Curious to see. I'm a new TWD fan myself, caught up on most of the original series. Not sure if I like the first episode of FTWD to be honest. But I'm hoping things pick up by the next episode because even TWD had slow moments.

    I loved it.
For me walking dead was on downhill ever since season 2. First was amazing but it just got worse until I finally quit watching mid season 5 because it was just so bad and illogical and the story was going nowhere and zombies became just a background noise and inifinite other reasons.
Fear the Walking Dead however makes me excited again, I actually felt tense at some parts of the episode. I don't remember when was the last time I felt tense or worried watching twd.
All in all, this is looking to be way better than the original show.

I couldn't agree more, besides they did say that FTWD would start off slower than WD! People who expect 100,000 zombies are going to be disappointed.

Yup exactly. Seeing the panic slowly build up over the episodes is what 'fear' in the title stands for.

Now I wasn't a huge fan of this first one but I am excited to see what they'll do with the second. If they can pull it off, I think the fact that the first episode took a bit to get going could actually work really, really well. Sort of hard to see how well a show worked until you can see it in retrospect.

I'll also add that I can see why people hated a lot of TWD. Until a couple weeks ago, I'd only seen the last two seasons. I didn't care for second season, pilot episode is still the best, and there were a lot of characters I'm glad are now gone.

Season 2 of WD was a total borefest. I thought they'd never leave that damn farm

i watched FTWD and I knew it would take me a few episodes before I would get invested in the characters. So far that only character I like is Alycia... but only because I liked her in the show The 100 lol

It's fine so far.. the first few episodes will be slow because they have to build up the zombie apocalypse. But I am excited to see the build up and the state of eventual panic.
