Is this just a passing thing since I've joined the forum or does everyone here absolutely love Harry Potter? I think there's been like three threads on it in the past 3 days, making this the fourth maybe?

Anyhow, even if this is just an isolated occurrence, it's made me rekindle my love for Harry Potter and I bought 'The Philosopher's Stone' today and I'm just about half way through (I'm a fast reader). I've read three books in about 10 days.

*Almost* everyone in general loves Harry Potter!

I agree. These threads make me remember how much I love it. I plan on having a Harry Potter movie marathon in the near future:slight_smile:

Haven't seen those threads, actually, but it'll probably get to me in a few.

Harry Potter is an extremely popular series, it isn't hard to find people who enjoy it by any stretch of the imagination.

I think it's a lot less common to find people who DON'T like it.

I've never met anyone who doesn't like it, but then I only associate with those who do. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Harry Potter is probably the most popular fandom out there. Fanfiction.net hosts over 721 thousand stories, compared to Naruto's 388 thousand, and Supernatural's 109 thousand.

I think Star Trek and Star Wars have HP beat where fandoms are concerned but it is extremely popular.

Yeah, I agree. Take my facts as you will--there are plenty of fandoms out there who don't drown Fanfiction.net with works.

I've never actually seen Star Trek or Star Wars. I'm terrified I'll become a Trekkie, and I just don't know what Star Wars is about.

I'm not into SW but from what I've seen (one film) it's about a bunch of humans and aliens going pew-pew with their space ships and lasers.

Star Trek is less about space fighting and more about exploration.

Well it kinda makes sense. Star Wars is more about fighting due to the "wars" and Star Trek is more about exploring due to the "trek" in the names
