What is y'all's favorite quote, be it from a movie, book, song, whatever. <3 Currently my favorite one is from Kung Fu Panda 2, by Lord Shen. "The only reason you're still alive is that I find your stupidity mildly amusing." I just love it. <3 Lol.
In a decaying society, Art, if it is truthful, must also reflect decay. And unless it wants to break faith with its social function, Art must show the world changeable. And must help changing it. - Ernst Fischer “I tried to drown my sorrows, but the bastards learned how to swim, and now I am overwhelmed by this decent and good feeling.” - Frida Kahlo
"All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity, but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. This I did." - T.E. Lawrence
"Desire is desire, wherever you are. The sun can not bleach it, nor the tide wash it away" It's from 'The Beach', one of my favourite movies of all time
'Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there.' Part of a poem by Rumi. Always loved it since I first saw it.
“There is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.” by Vincent van Gogh and “Not all those who wander are lost.” by J.R.R. Tolkien (He's one of my favourite authors)
My favorite quotes are the ones to live by. "We're all just stories in the end. Make sure it's a good one." --The Doctor "In your darkest times, hope is something you give yourself--that is the meaning of inner strength." "If you look for the light, you can often find it--look for the dark and it is all you will ever see." --Uncle Iroh And then, just for fun, this one: "These wallpapers are atrocious. One of us has to go." --Oscar Wilde's last words.
"To be brave, I think you have to be afraid at the same time. To be brave means you have something important you have to do and you're scared, but you do it anyway." And "Sometimes, everything has to fall apart before it can come back together the way it's supposed to be." Both are from Ami Polonky's book Gracefully Grayson
Personally, my favorite quote comes from my favorite horror film Jacob's Ladder (1990) and is given to us by the character Louis, Jacob's chiropractor, played by Danny Aiello (rest his soul). It goes like this: It always makes me cry due to how beautiful it is. If you are a fan of horror films and never seen Jacob's Ladder, go watch it right now. You will not be disappointed. :icon_wink
Ugh, too many, but if I had to pick just one: "To be sure, I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but he who is not afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my cypresses." - Friedrich Nietzsche
Got another one. I live by this. Basically the only thing that keeps me going is the meaning inherent to this beautiful turn of phrase by the fabulous Professor Dumbledore ('Goblet of Fire). Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy. But remember this: you have friends here. You're not alone.
"What is a forest? Is it the trees, or the space between them?" Absolutely no idea whose it is, but hey, a good quotes a good quote
There's too many! Here are the first three I can think of. "Let's play good guys against bad guys... Yes. Let's play that. Are you ready? You're the bad guy. And when you're bad, you just run. That's fine, right?" - Majora's Mask Moon Child, Majora's Mask "Somewhere in between I believe lies the truth. And it's ironic, I think, that the truth should be one day be found lying somewhere" - Shaun Micallef "This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists all our arms collectively, but, if sweetness can win, and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high-five you yesterday my friend. Peace." -Old Tart Toter, Adventure Time
