What characters do you look up to/relate to? Can be animated on non-animated but have to be fictional or loosely based of someone. Preferably characters aimed at children/teens.

For me I can relate to/have related to- Ron stoppable, Hank Zipzer, Bart Simpson (sometimes but not usually), Lisa Simpson (less than I can relate to Bart though) Applejack, Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Alex from Totally spies, George from Arthur, Fern from Arthur, Buster from Arthur... just to name a few.

For some reason I am usually drawn to the underdog character in a story, just because they tend to be more relatable in general. So what characters have you related to in the past? What characters (if any) have inspired you in some way? Just curious. :eusa_danc

I notice my favourite characters in shows tend to be the most hated for some reason, maybe I just have terrible taste. (!)

I absolutely love Himura Kenshin, mainly because he changed from an assassin to a peace-loving wanderer. It kind of reminds me of how much I myself have changed.

I can relate to Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

In a sexuality way I can relate with Santana from Glee  I'm not a bitch though - lol.

Growing up I always related to Raistlin Majere from Dragonlance. Bitterly sarcastic, snarky, smart ass mage that traded his physical health for arcane power. His friends never seemed to trust him, or even like him. Often thinking he was up to no good and widely viewed as evil, but in the end he had pure intentions and was really the one that proved to be the hero. He was just willing to do some pretty questionable shit to accomplish it.

Korra is the one that brings it home for me. Realistic, properly flawed, not ridiculously overpowered, had to face difficult choices and real threats.
Ice King - a fallen hero and protector who is crazy and brilliant (but a creep sometimes too, I suppose!)
Stanley Pines - following through on his plans, no matter what, and opening that crusty black heart to care a lot. Also, he's hilarious

I relate to this thing because she is a pretty good example of my life (give or take a few things) :3

Re: Characters you relate to (but not really look up to)

This is going to sound really stupid (especially for a movie I've only seen once and quite frankly don't really want to see again), but for me it's Elsa. Yes. The ice lady from Frozen. She's got powers she can't control, and when she gets emotional they only get worse.

Well, in my case it's not ice powers but a hair-trigger temper. And much like her, I fear what I could do to someone close to me if something pushes me over the edge. I've already done and said things in my life I'm not proud of.

That's all I'm saying about that. Bad enough it's a character from a freaking kid's movie, especially one I'm sick to death of hearing about, but she's the only one I can think of. :eusa_doh:

I would have to say I can relate a lot to Lisbeth Salander from "the girl with the dragon tattoo" series (all amazing books highly recommend) regarding the way she is to other people when it comes to trusting them and her preference to be alone. I am not that way anymore, like how she progressively got closer to people and trusted her friends as the books progressed.

Characters I have looked up to, or relate to in one way or another are:
    -Batman
    -Sherlock Holmes
    -Doctor Who
-Aang (from Avatar the last airbender)
    -Mad Hatter or Cheshire Cat

A lot of these were my childhood role models, or characters I felt an emotional bond with - for various reasons.

Definitely Korra from The Legend of Korra. I have her humorously big mouth and bold personality but I also strive to attain her compassionate spirit.

Katara from The Avatar The Last Airbender the animated series. Ever since I was a kid, I have loved her. I looked up to her and loved her so much! I wanted to be her when I was young. This also goes for Aang. I loved him so much and wished I could be an Airbender like him when I was a kid. Hmm...who else? Maybe Zuko too. I used to have the biggest crush on him as a kid. I always wished I was Mai, Zuko's girlfriend, so I could date him! Anyway...anyone else? Oh yeah, maybe Hanji, Sasha, Eren, Mikasa, and etc. I can also relate to Haruhi from Ouran High school Host Club. I think who I most relate to is Aang or Momo from ATLA. I mean, I'm like him so much! I'm goofy, peaceful, dorky, thoughtful, etc. Though....I feel I have always been Katara since young age. So I'll stick with my first answer, Katara.
