Never was a musical guy until recently, but am in love with this song. Reminds me of my bf.
Great song... Does anyone know the context of it? I'm currently about halfway through the book. I'm pretty sure the singer is Elphaba... Is she singing about Glinda or Fiyero?
Oh boy You're way off It's a duet And the one singing it is none other than Kristin Chenoweth who made Galinda famous. This is what they sing before Elphaba is melted. They speak their amends and let it be known they will be friends forever. It's beautiful. When I saw this in Chicago (front row) I was crying so hard. As were the actresses.
Oh, Kristin Chenoweth. So much awesome packed into such a tiny little package. I love this song! I got to see Wicked in Toronto on a school trip two years ago, and I actually wasn't impressed. It might have just been my old teacher sitting beside me talking through the whole thing, or perhaps the cast there. I thought it was really well-written, though, and I'd love to see it again.
I. LOVE. KRISTEN. CHENOWETH. Seriously, she should be declared an official goddess. She's so amazing. XD Wicked makes my life complete. <3 Idina and Kristen can't be beaten as Elphaba and Galinda. They had such great chemistry.
The musical is quite different from the book. The book is dark and creepy. The musical has a lighter edge.
i read an interview with stephen shwartz (the guy who wrote wicked) he said his younger sister, (or some younger female in his life) wrote most of this song.... he asked her what she would say to her best friend, if she was never going to see her again... (and that is what he used as the verses) the chorus is smart little frases from the wizard of oz book...
Well I was in love with it when I watched it the first time! And this song, touching really. I like Elphaba and Fiyero's duet! As long as you're mine! and the most bimbotic song 'Popular'! I wanna see Wicked in Broadway!
i had goosbumps watching the show. i saw it two weeks ago. and i felt like i was actually defying gravity. i was out of this world. AMAZINGGGGG. <3
