I usually go on YouTube music video trails. Sometimes I read skim Metal reviews, and then I'm back to YouTube. Now and then I check online profiles of people into similar music.

Before I got internet access at home, I usually bought a lot of interesting-looking second-hand CDs.

I go on Wikipedia and search for "list of <genre> bands". Then I just click on whatever looks interesting.

I use Pandora! I've discovered a ton of music that way, and would totally recommend it!

Pandora and other people's Spotify playlists for me, usually.

That and having a best friend that just youtube surfs and finds things and passes them onto me.

I love finding new music. I'll go on Pandora and type in a genre or band I like and listen to whatever comes on.

Reddit is really good for new music too Reddit.com/r/listentothis or pretty much any music subreddit

When I'm listening to the car radio. Though I'm not actively looking for new music, new music finds me.

Well, "new". I listen to classic rock stations. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Mostly YouTube. Sometimes radio - I used to google the lyrics (if hear what they're singing) and find the song, but ever since I installed Shazam it is easier.

Anything new I usually learn of through my kids. But works out well cuz I can infuse my 15 year old with a lot of stuff I grew up on, Queen, Metallica, Pink Floyd.......I'm so glad we have similar tastes.

I use Spotify or websites like rateyourmusic. I used to use last.fm, but I deleted my account recently, so I need new ways to find music. Also, my parents are both huge music fans, with taste similar to mine, so I can get recommendations from them or look through my dad's CD/record collection.

I have an app called "discovr music" (e was left out on purpose) all you have to do is search a band you like, click then more bands with similar music pop up, and you can keep doing that. you can sample their music, see videos, read their bio's, blogs, reviews. I think its free too.

Then i just convert the songs i want off of youtube

For the most part, I find my music through video games such as Grand Theft Auto and Guitar Hero. If I like the song, I look for the album it's on, and that occasionally introduces me to more music I like, and makes me want to find more albums by those artists. I've developed a vast collection of music over the past couple of years of me doing this, and the music helps inspire me for my writing as well. I wouldn't be writing if I hadn't found the music I like through video games, so I'm thankful I got into the GTA and GH games when I did.

A number of ways, but mainly through friends with similar tastes, also, from the local college radio station, collecting LPs from Thrift stores, You Tube...I'd say the primary way is social, though; discovering a band, then seeing them live with some friends, and just hanging out. I do use the net more often these days, but try not to let it be the only source.

    I listen to the radio.
When I'm at work, I'm driving in the trucks most of the day so I get to listen to LOTS of music.

Youtube, reviews (mostly youtube reviews) by the needledrop. But I also find a lot of music by going through my dads vinyl collection and the few people I know who have a vinyl collection to go through.
