Some bands from that era are just super great. I get really nostalgic listening to classic rock, as if I'm an old person myself. Probably because that's all I listened to when I was a little kid. My dad had a pretty impressive record collection.

A few of my favorite bands are Boston, The Cars, Skid Row, Guns n Roses, and I've recently started really liking Van Halen!

That happens to me, too. Even if I'm listening to something from the 60s.

I haven't listened to a lot of 60's music, but I really do love Janis Joplin. Do you like her? I like a lot more about the 90's era than classic rock and stuff. 90's music makes me feel really nostalgic too. :>

I really should check out Janis Joplin's music.

Most of the classic rock I like is from the 70s and 80s.

It was interesting that you mentioned Van Halen earlier because they were the first classic rock band I started listening to.

Her voice really is like no other voice out there. Tbh I haven't heard a lot of music from the 70's besides punk rock and stuff like Hall and Oates. I love punk rock music from all eras, but that's not really on topic xD..

Since you like Van Halen I gotta ask you, do you prefer David lee Roth or Sammy Hagar as a vocalist for the band?

I'm never good these types of questions. I'm very indecisive. I like both. I've honestly never picked a side in all my years of listening to them.

Same with Iron Maiden. I like all the vocalists. Maiden is a metal band, though, but still.

    I'm sorry. >.<

I'm bad with names and can never keep all of them straight, but Def Leppard is my favorite followed closely by The Scorpions and Boston.

Does rock from the '80s and '90s count? I love bands like Metallica (though that's metal--still kina rock?), Soundgarden, and Nirvana.

Ugh, it won't let me edit my post, but I was in a hurry and forgot to add some (what a crime!) and clarify some crap. I'm bad with actual singer and band member names, but not band names. xD Some other bands and artists I like are Journey, Lynryd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix.

I'm not the most knowledgeable about classic rock but I do listen to some AC/DC, Zeppelin, and Nirvana...however and whichever way some bands are classified as. I quite enjoy the genre and I'll be happy to get into it more.

I like classic rock (mostly from the 70's) and prog rock, since prog and classic rock are somewhat related. Some CR bands I really like are bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who, Fleetwood Mac and Queen.

Classic rock is what modern rock wishes it could be. Although it's weird that one of my favorite classic bands is Guns N' Roses, who were actually quite late to the party by being most active in the '80s and '90s instead of about a decade earlier.

^^And who could speak a single ill word about Queen? Some of the best there ever were and very likely will be.

Well I classify Metallica from Black album to Reload as hard/alt rock. St. Anger was nu metal and a massive turd, and Death Magnetic was a step in the right direction. And the first four albums were obviously thrash metal.

I'm a Wholigan, and next to that are Rush and Floyd. I mean I love classic rock in general, but it's those three bands that I always go back to.

Great bands! Especially Rush, hehe. They're my favourite band atm.

I've got pretty wide-ranging tastes, from punk to classical, but in the classic rock category I've definitely enjoyed:

    The Rolling Stones
    The Kinks
    The Who
    Led Zeppelin
    Pink Floyd
    Rush
Deep Purple (up to the mid-70s era)
    Frank Zappa
Bob Dylan (perhaps more folk, depending)
    Janis Joplin
    Jimi Hendrix
    Van Morrison...and others I'm missing.

When I think classic rock, I tend to think of bands that were big in the late 60s and through the 70s, mainly.
