I chanced upon this song, "Same Love" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. All I can say is wow, just wow. Hopefully the link works for you guys.
Oh yeah, I remember when that song first came out and it was all over the radio and TV, and well everywhere. I think I cried the first time I heard it. I remember when someone starting playing it at school on the piano and I was sat with my old group of friends who I wasn't out to at the time, and it was really awkward. People said the usual derogatory comments at the guy who was playing the piano, which was a shame considering he was really good but still.
This song has been around for a while. I remember a couple of years ago I was listening to it on the radio and my mom changed it because they were "disrespecting the bible" sigh
Yup, I remember I was in the car with a friend about 2 years ago and this song came on. I quickly changed the station because I was so paranoid and thought she would think I liked the song and therefor would know I was gay. I always listened to it in secret. Thank god those times are over and I'm completely comfortable with my sexuality now.
I don't like Downtown much, but that is because the Eric Nally bit is too awesome to just be a chorus, it needs a whole song. I'd never heard of him before, but when I first saw the video I was perplexed! "Is that a man or a woman singing?! He's like a lovechild of Cher and Freddie Mercury!"
Macklemore is a cool guy with some pretty good music. I've liked Same Love ever since I heard it on the radio a year or more ago. Also, he's from Seattle (Bellevue? Auburn? IDK, he's from Western Washington woop woop.)
