Yes, in the original cut. Who actually did in the scene depends on the version. I like him shooting first because it characterizes him as more of an untrustworthy scoundrel. I like my bad guy who finds his heroism, dammit!
Yes. Of course. Look. In the original cut of the movie, Han shot first. George Lucas was concerned that this made him a "cold-blooded killer." Therefore, later editions have Greedo shooting first or them both shooting at the same time. It's ridiculous; Han is not a cold-blooded killer whether he shoots first or not.
Exactly. In the original movie the character had a weapon pointed at him and implied that he was going to use it on him. To have waited until the character shot first and just hope the character missed would've been stupid.
At least in the later versions Han dodges the bolt with what can only be described as inhuman reflexes. In earlier versions of the scene, Greedo just plain missed at pretty much point blank range. That's just disgraceful.
