Love the song. Love the video.

The first time I heard this song I cried. I can't help but love the song though. I'm a sucker for sad/depressing songs that make you stop whatever you are doing and just listen.

It just kills me that that actually happens though. If you bring a child into the world, how can you hate it? How can you beat it and kill it? Its the one thing that you are supposed to love unconditionally, and in my experience, you can't help but do just that.

Bruises as defined as the ones in the video WOULD have been turned in.

Some teachers are hesitant to turn in bruises and such to the office because what if it ISN'T abuse? A child could be taken away from their parents because he/she was a dumb shit and did something stupid. (Mom's a teacher and we have had quite a few discussions on this.)

Now, the bruises in this video are almost perfect hand marks. THOSE would have been turned in.

i happen to know that even if the bruises are there they dont take the kids right away. they investagate(sp?) first.

as a future teacher i think i would rather be safe then sorry. if a child was badly hurt or died because i didnt want to piss of a few parents i would leave forgive myself.
