Is there anyone else who's gonna be watching the 2016 inductions on 8th April? The inductees are Chicago, NWA, Steve Miller, Cheap Trick and Deep Purple. I kinda wrote a book about this stuff so I'm pretty hyped to see it. (!)(!)
I'm actually really happy Cheap Trick got in. My dad took me to see them a few years ago. I wasn't really into them then, but I enjoy their music a lot now. They definitely deserved the spot. I was actually surprised when I found out that they weren't currenty in it given their talent.
How was Chicago not in 30 years ago?! The RNR Hall is a decent place to visit, but their selections have been crappy. They've only started to get a better panel who select inductees in the past 5 years or so. KISS are one of the biggest and most influential rock bands in history and it took them forever to get in - to use but one example.
Well Chicago have only been eligible since 1995, but yeah kinda sad. And Kiss were eligible for 14 years before they got in. And they still haven't inducted Bon Jovi, Def Leopard, INXS, or Supertramp. Cheap Trick have been eligible since 2003 fyi
