    More J-rock/metal than j-pop but I love Ayumi and Clover Z

Yeah, I loooove jrock. Jpop not as much. For Jpop I do enjoy a bit of Namie Amuro, a bit of Kyary, a bit of Arashi but I'm not really into any of them. I love some Japanese pop rock like Scandal, they're my favourite band, they are so cute and fun. Generally I find Japanese pop rock bands are cute and fun in a way that makes me really happy. My current avatar is Shiina Ringo, my favourite singer who spans pop, rock, jazz and even a bit of electronic. She is a genius. And my other favourite band is Number girl, a punkish noise rock band. They have such a perfect energy and an amazing unique style. There are so many more I could go into (I do have a certain fondness for Babymetal, notably). I really feel like jrock has a really distinctive sound and is some of the best in the world. But jpop can be pretty samey though the characters involved can have a lot of personality like Kyary, AND it has a different cute quality that Western pop doesn't have.

Scandal is liiiiiife! Seriously I feel like they changed my life. Got me into electric guitar, are my consant motivational inspiration, spurred me on to keep learning Japanese and my massive crush on mami even helped me figure out my sexuality. Yay Scandal! Yay jpop!
