    I was going to put this in the "news" section, but I decided it wasn't serious enough to put there really, I mean was he even in a closet to begin with? :grin:

    Smithers will finally come out - thanks to Simpsons writer's gay son

    Still, apparently they're going to have a few episodes addressing this.

    I think the story behind it is pretty sweet though. :slight_smile:

    I love The Simpsons, and the story is awesome!

    Isn't Mr Burns one of the few who still doesn't realize he's gay?

    No offense but Smithers coming out as gay makes about as much sense as Mr. Burns coming out as greedy

    A few people
    It may make sense to us looking from the outside jellal but I feel like this is a great story for people struggling with their own sexuality. I count myself as one of those people. I'm not trying to take away from your life experiences but if you were to put yourself in his shoes he's been closeted for all these years and finally coming out. It's a great story to show that a younger lgbt person can do it and maybe there will be less situations like mine and many others where youve suppressed those feelings for so long that you got married and are now struggling with coming out when you have a life built around the lie. Not trying to be confrontational just trying to show the other side of the coin :wink:

    He's the only one who doesn't. We did this get this great joke because of it though -

    Burns: So, another Friday is upon us. What will you be doing Smithers? Something gay no doubt

    Smithers: What?

    Burns: You know, light hearted, fancy free. Mothers lock up your daughters, Smithers is on the town!

    I'm surprised Burns hasn't already worked it out considering Smithers has kissed him passionately before.
