I'm sad at how many people hated the ending... at least people aren't spewing anger here. Personally I would put this down as one of my favorite endings I've seen in a long long time. It shows a view of the happiest resolution, with no absolute confirmation that it happens. There's potential for the most disastrous resolution if that door leads to the big bad instead and everyone is stuck into the black hole. Even in the best case scenario you don't know who (if anyone) escapes the final showdown—you have to assume the worst, given how even in the best possible ending you see nobody who was there at the battlefield. But in the last minute when the camera cuts between John opening the door with his friends and Caliborn powering up and screaming by himself before it goes dark and the story just ends, there's something amazing going on there. It's like the author was saying, "you know how far these guys have gotten—whether or not they beat him depends on if you have faith that they can get their happy ending." It's really asking you as the reader to put your mind in solidarity with the characters and that was tremendously thoughtful. I'm going to miss HS
Oh wow, Jellal. Personally, I loved the ending due to its hopeful feeling as well. Also, on another note, they can't hate on us at anime cons anymore because Homestuck is an anime now!!
I cried at the ending, but there's some things that we still dont know, like what happened to Gamzee, some say he was thrown into the ocean of the new universe, and also what happenedto the sprites? And tthere's one thing that I need to point out, Equius and Nepeta and Eridan are dead forever I'm pretty sure.
(ehehe) Don't worry, Homestuck isn't everyone's thing, and that's completely ok! Since sprites are technically a game construct, wouldn't anything/everyone that got prototyped just cease to exist outside the game? ===>Turn this thread into a theory discussion thread?
Homestuck ended but aren't they making a game? I wonder what HUSSIE will do next.. New web comic or something completely different...
Hiveswap hype!!! This is pure speculation, but I feel like Hussie might take a break from the webcomic world, since some of his fans got really relentless and demanding toward the end of Homestuck...
