I knnooww, overused title, but! It's fun!

Marvel people, where are you hiding? It'd be cool to talk about Avengers/Captain America/Any other Marvel related tv-show or movie that you like! Who's your favorite character? Got any headcanons for them?

Mine got to be Bucky and I have this huge urge for him to meet Scott Lang, and well, any avenger really. It's not clear from the title, but I am totally here for Ace or GQ characters, any and all. Fully enjoying Daredevil and Jessica Jones right now!

I love Marvel and I'm not going to try and hide it  (Although I've barely scraped the surface of such a huge universe - one bit at a time!)

I finished both seasons of Daredevil recently and I love the show so much. It's super well done and has its dark and gritty moments that I really appreciate too. It's pretty unique I think as a superhero show, in terms of atmosphere, character, and plot building. At its core, it's totally my thing.

As for favourite Marvel characters, I really can't choose! I do really like Matt, but Bucky is awesome too; plus I'm reading Frank Castle comics now and he's an interesting character to say the least. Also, although I haven't fully caught up yet, I love Hawkeye in the comics! I'm curious what would happen if Matt and Frank ever meet the Avengers on the big screen some day.
I hope you enjoy DD and I've wanted to start Jessica Jones for a while now; will probably start after exams.

Can't wait for The Defenders show and also CA: Civil War  Meanwhile I'm probably going to continue reading some comics in the limited free time I have!

Good luck to you my friend! Believe me, it all begins to piece together one 2 hour film at a time!

Absolutely, Daredevil is unbelievably good right now even if it is insanely dark. Yes!! I've been waiting for people to praise it for a while for being unique. Marvel could do with more superheroes with clear disabilities, imho. Talking of that - Hawkeye in the comics, is an absolute babe. Pizza loving, dog stroking, ASL using lovable archer. (@Marvel, where is his hearing aid?) I hope you read the ones with Deadpool and Hawkeye in them!
If Matt and Frank ever met the Avengers, I would probably faint. Like everyone undermines Matt and he just puts them flat on their asses. Honestly, he might be hired as a Tony Stark lawyer. Jessica Jones will absolutely be worth the wait!! Hopefully so will Civil war only good things being said about it so, fingers crossed.

Random thought: Could you imagine Crossbones and Frank Castle meeting? It'd be like the most viscous "someone has to change their outfit" scene of the century

Of course; it's a whole world of comics shows and movies! But I love what I've seen/read so far :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Daredevil is unlike a lot of shows I've seen; it has a different atmosphere than Marvel's big movies but I enjoy both styles. The beauty of the show is that it goes so in depth into character and plot exploration - I petition for Marvel to allow for more superhero shows that can add more depth/development to characters we love.
Marvel can definitely do with more superheroes with clear disabilities I agree; and representation on other multiple fronts as well. But Matt is pretty damn great, and I love how in the show they represented his blindness quite well; I heard Charlie Cox trained for ages with a specialist to get it right. Hawkeye is amazing and I wish that more of his character was developed further in the films! I agree, where is his hearing aid? Yeah I'll get onto the comics whenever I can.

I feel like people underestimate Matt a lot sometimes (especially the villains who don't know much about him) but he can totally kick everyone's asses honestly. He's also a super smart lawyer - I agree, it'd be amazing if he's integrated into the Marvel films as Stark's lawyer, then when danger comes he suddenly turns up in his Daredevil suit. I've heard great things about Civil War too, can't wait!

Ah yes, if they meet it's the whole "well, this is kind of awkward" moment. Anyways Frank Castle's character is amazing too. Such an incredible anti-hero; you can disagree with his morals and the way he does things, but either way he's a super interesting person.

    *sighs*

Am I the only person beginning to get tired of marvel films? There's so many, most of them are fairly similar, and there's something like three a year for the next two or three years. Isn't that kinda excessive in every way, shape an form? If it was one every other year each the same quality as the first iron man or avengers film it'd be great, but having them churn out these films constantly... The market is being over saturated with them. So much so that I have a hunch that civil war might be kinda mediocre. The only super'hero' film I'm looking forward to is suicide squad, and that's all.

Comics are great though. But the people who watch the films and say they are fans of such and such a company are not, looking at you, my sister.

I love movies and tv shows. I love superheroes. I love Marvel. I love DC. I love Doctor Who. I love table-top role-playing (Dungeons and Dragons & Pathfinder mostly). I love to write poetry and I love to create imaginary worlds! I've gone full-tilt nerd!

My favorite MCU character? I'd have to say Nick Fury...damn excited for the prospect that he might get his own spin-off show.

I think that there is only so far that super-her movies can go before the genre implodes.

I just wonder sometimes what would happen if Captain America and The Punisher had to work together on a mission. (If this has happened already in the universe somewhere, I apologise. I've been reading comics and catching up on certain things/characters but there is always more I don't know as of yet :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:) Their moral compasses are so far different it'll be incredible to see how that dynamic plays out.

I absolutely love Marvel and the films are great, but I personally prefer the Marvel shows and in depth comics somewhat more than the films. Though some of my friends have only really ever watched the Marvel films and they're big Marvel fans anyhow; and I don't argue with that. Fan of one film or everything in it, to each their own as they say.

Anyways I suppose there are definitely limitations to what you can do with characters + plot in a 2ish hour movie versus a TV show's (eg in Daredevi) 13+ hours long run per season; also the difference between a big screen film and a show. In my opinion it makes for some very different types of media/aspects of the superhero genre depending on what you watch.

Back to on and off reading some comics and saving up some to read later on...if anyone has any good recommendations will be cool to hear

I'm a big Marvel fan. My dad has been a comic book collector (specifically Marvel) pretty much all his life, so I'm quite familiar with the material! Really liking the MCU, shows and everything. I don't tend to compare them all - I just read, watch and enjoy each on it's own merits! I think the movies have been of consistently good quality, which considering how many there are - is quite an achievement. They just seem to be on a roll at the moment.

SAME! Ohh, the agent carter series is everything and more, it's so good. It feels really old-timey and it's just so different from the other marvel shows. It's less gory for one, so I could certainly see younger people watching it! Ahh, yes, I'm in love with it.

He might get his own show?? Wow, that would be interesting to see. Theres not really a lot in the Avengers about Nick? He's just kinda there for the one-liners but he was pretty huge in the comics (i think anyway)

Ha! Nerds must run in the family! Do you have a favorite of any of them yet? Yess, the movies have been so good lately. I'm not even sure how they managed to create BOTH Guardians of the Galaxy (funny, colourful) and Captain America The Winter Soldier (serious, dark) and they're both good and lots of people went to see it? Crazy talent.

I'm not a huge fan of Marvel, but I do enjoy their comics, animes, movies, etc. Probably more than DC. I absolutely love the X-Men and love them all, especially the women. They so powerful and unique in their own little way!

Xmen!! Yes!! Do you like Mystique? Also do you prefer the comics or the films? The films for xmen are kinda gruesome but a LOT easier to follow than the comics in my opinion.
