I'm a huge fan of symphonic and power metal, as well as really subgenre of metal that involves minimal screaming. I love Kamelot, Nightwish, Dream Evil, Dragonfall, and Hibria! (Though some of the above aren't very well known)

How about Blind Guardian? Falconer is also pretty great and I recommend them if you're into Swedish power/folk metal.

I do like power metal a lot, I would say it is my favorite genre of music. Always puts me in a good mood.

Unfortunately, I only have one friend that knows all the death metal stuff, so I don't know a lot of that yet

    Five finger death punch!
I think these count: seven dust, avenged sevenfold, skillet, disturbed,
Breaking Benjamin. Papa roach, haylstorm slipknot, three days grace
    Drowning pool

Not sure if these are quite "metal" enough but

Pop evil, (some of it), seether apocolyptica, possibly "rise against",

Ok, so I kinda just listed all the metal ish bands I like.

    Hoping it fits the theme

Heavy metal is, like, my life. Power metal is the bee's knees. Edguy, Avantasia, Helloween... muh baes! Then there's also the classical metal bands like Iron Maiden and Megadeth (though Megadeth is quite thrashy), and their contemporary disciples, like Jorn.

Kamelot are great. I used to be a major Nightwish fangirl, but not as much anymore, though I still like their music.

Huge power metal fan. Edguy, Strato, Onmyouza, Primal Fear, Helloween, Dream Evil, Kamelot, Balance of Power... the list is endless. But I'm a fan of most kinds of metal in general

Sadly, trying to find another gay guy who listens to metal can be like trying to find a live unicorn.... that can also tap dance.

    Hellyeah and shinedown are great.

    I almost forgot hellyeah.

I've got more music to explore with suggestions above, too.

Yeah, Shinedown is hard rock, and Seether is post-grunge. The rest are mostly rock (though Slipknot, Disturbed, Sevendust, and Pop Evil would be the exception...sort of).

Yeah, depending on what you're looking for I can pull up more.

I've mentioned them in another thread, but End of Green is great to check out if you're into alternative metal. I'm going through their discography and they're pretty damn good, and the weird thing is I found them through the soundtrack of one of the Traces of Death movies; which I found to be weird since it was the most tame of the tracks--since they usually have funeral metal/funeral doom, doom metal, death metal, and sometimes goregrind or some kind of grindcore.

I like it to a certain extent. All of the metal bands I listen to are from Europe. American metal isn't my thing.

I rediscovered a video This Exists did about Botswana's metal scene, and man do these guys kick ass. Oh, and I also finally had some time to check out BABYMETAL, and I'm so impressed. They're fantastic, and I never thought j-pop and heavy metal would flow together so nicely.

I love power metal a lot. It's such a great genre. Running Wild, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Empires of Eden, Black Majesty and I also don't mind Death Metal with Viking or Pagan imagery.
