    Hi all!
I'm trying to make a playlist of love songs by bisexual women/lesbians/women who love women. I want the songs to specifically reference women (so songs that use "she" or "her" in them, instead of "you"). I have a list of about 12 songs already, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions! Thanks

The only one I can think of right now is "Ode to Odetta" by Courtney Barnett; Barnett has a lot of good songs, but most of them use the second person "you" instead of names or the third person "she."

The third person is used in her song "Out of the Woodwork," but I wouldn't really call it a love song -- in fact, I'm not entirely sure it's about a romantic relationship in the first place. And in the first line of "Dead Fox" she mentions her girlfriend Jen, but it's also not a love song -- just kind of a collection of observations.

Tegan and Sara might a song or two that fit your description, but from what I remember they usually use "you" instead of "she"

Yep! The New York Times Magazine did a (very short) profile on her a couple weeks ago that's worth a read if you're a fan.

All the things she said--one of my favorites!
    Jessie's girl (cover)--by Mary Lambert
    All Tegan and Sara songs
Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap (there's a she in her lyrics, I don't know what Imogen heap's sexuality is though, her songs are amazing though regardless)

Girls Like Girls by Hayley Kiyoko
    Cliff's Edge by Hayley Kiyoko
All The Things She Said by tatu
She Keeps Me Warm by Miranda Lambert
Ellie Goulding's cover of Take Me To Church (not sure if this counts, but she doesn't change the pronouns in the song so I like to imagine it as a gay love song)

And of course, Tegan and Sara. I know they've already been mentioned multiple times, but I feel the need to reiterate that they are awesome. My personal favorite songs by them are Closer, The Con and Call It Off

OH WOW!! This Ellie Goulding cover is great
Haha, i think Tegan and Sara hold a special place for a lot of us ^_^ Closer was the first song i heard of there's. It blew me away, to have such blatant queerness is popular music was amazing to me

You should put the playlist on 8tracks or even make a youtube playlist of the songs and post it when you're done! All of these songs are such good suggestions! I don't actually have anything else to add, just came because I wanted to have a sort through other people's picks ahaha.

Love that. Really makes me want to read more which is something I've been thinking about anyway. I think I might do that. I keep starting to read the Iliad and then don't, so maybe I'll actually read for a bit. I better do some revision for exams first though... Hmm but I sorta want to catch the waning sun while reading. Dillemas haha.

O Chenilla by Cadallaca (though the video is spelt "O Shenila", and they don't technically say "she", but it's obvious it's a girl)
Growing Up In Springfield by Team Dresch
    She's Amazing by Team Dresch
Definitely more songs by Team Dresch

Check out Jonelle Monae! Her last album has a bunch of 'she' songs. <3 her so much. Also, I don't know if Brandi Carlisle uses 'she' in her songs but she's worth checking out. Both of them are amazing singers.
