Hi, so I just wanted to ask if there are two girls/ women I can ship that aren't portrayed in a rude and incorrect way? I keep banging my head up against the wall, when it comes to this. Either the people playing the characters are rude/ignorant towards the gay community or the writing is absolute shit. I just want to fall in love with a couple again, without having to deal with al the shitty crap that comes with some misinformed straights trying their hand at lesbian couples, thank you. I am a person who feels extremely deeply and whenever I happen upon a clearly gay character suddenly being made straight or lesbianism being made into some fun, casual joke(i.e. girls experiment with each other all the time, it doesn't mean shit.), I freak and break down. I thought I'd found my pickings with glee, but it kept getting worse and more offending, season after season. Sorry for the rambling, I just needed to vent.
Libra Neko: Yes, I've heard of real people-shipping, but it's not really my thing. All I want is just for a romantic ship, ( movie or tv-show), where the characters aren't portrayed by people who are disrespectful to the gay community or better yet where they're played by actual gay/bi people.( but I know that might be a stretch already) Or a ship from a show where women liking other women is treated seriously( i.e. not stereotypical or completely wrong) Anyone has any suggestions? I'd prefer non-canon/ subtextual ships, but you can also give me an actual couple that isn't reduced to pecks on the cheeks/ no screen time at all.
Emily from Pretty Little Liars. She has different girlfriends throughout the show, but she's a lesbian who is not suddenly straight, and it is not treated as a joke or anything. I know a couple of ships, but the ones that I have watched didn't really end well. They weren't treated as a joke though, and they weren't made straight as well either.
Clarke and Lexa from The 100 I don't personally like this couple too much, but it is probably the most popular and liked ship in the whole show. Though, their relationship doesn't end that well in the end, but it's still worth watching
Maybe check out the show Lost Girl. I don't know if that would be your kind of show, there is definitely nicely portrayed pesbian romance but the show is also heavy on sex and action, as well as fantasy. The characters are Bo and Lauren.
OK. I lied. I'm actually a closet shipper. My favorite pairings include: Link x Dark Link Sora x Roxas Sora x Riku Cloud x Squall Naruto x Sasuke Naruto x Kiba And I also have some straight pairings, too. Link x Zelda Naruto x Sakura
Lol. I think it's funny that we're putting shipping on the same plane as sexual orientation itself, what with using the "coming out" terminology and all.
I would suggest the two female leads on The Shannara Chronicles, but it seems like they're both going after the male lead when they actually totally belong to each other asdnfafksdfmk ...I have beef with that right now. But I still want them to be together. Uh...other than that, Homura Akemi and Madoka Kaname from Madoka Magica, and/or Sayaka Miki and Kyoko Sakura from the same series. All of these are subtext (With Homura and Madoka being pretty loud subtext).
