I am too as Winter Maiden mentioned in her post...I love romantic, Classical and Baroque music and I have a friend who is a member of an orchestra who got me into it.

Yes, I sometimes listen to classical. I have a decent classical record collection. I mostly listen to modern stuff (early 20th century), but I also enjoy baroque. Favorite composers include Bach, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Bartok, Messiaen, Szymanowski, etc.

Oh, hell yes. I'm a big fan of Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Wagner in particular, but classical as a whole, yes.

Strictly speaking, I like Romantic and Impressionist music more than I like Classical music. My favorite composers are Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin, and Debussy.

Source: I am a pianist and composer.

    Fuck yes!

Generally, my preferences lie in music from the classical era, but music from other eras aren't bad too — I just have a bit of a grudge against baroque piano pieces (you try playing Bach and see how your fingers like it). I also much prefer the orchestral setup, structure and tone of the classical era to that of baroque or romantic.

I love listening to symphonies most of the time, so my favourite composers are like, Mozart, Schubert, Dvorak, Rachmaninoff etc. I can't actually remember all of them.

A question: do most of you find that people in your "real life" don't like or listen to classical music? I know few people who listen to it outside of background studying music (among close friends, at least).

It's not a part of my iTunes playlist, but I do appreciate it as a genre.

Baroque music is <3 especially string music!

I like a lot of modern and romantic music too, but baroque is my one true love. Modern-wise, Prokofiev is my favourite for sure, I also like Tchaikovsky.

Not exactly, just people who can take it or leave it or don't seem to have much familiarity with it apart from the 'usual suspects.' Certainly not people familiar with great works or composers, that aren't as widely-known.

Many hundreds of years of great minds composing pieces with great skill, with many thousands of interpretations by skilled musicians and orchestras exposing new nuance all the time. We are so fortunate to have access to so much recorded music, there's so much to hear! Learning to play pieces is great mental exercise as well.
Now i need to dig through my classical discs and dust off my piano, haha!

When I read or write a text, where songs with lyrics are confusing me, I love to listen to Mozart, Vivaldi or Beethoven. They're just amazing!

I like Classical but I don't listen to it on a daily basis. I listen to Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Hadyn, Mozart, Schubert and Tchaikovsky

Yes, I love classical music. I love to sleep, relax, eat, and write to classical music.
