I just saw Moana today, and I really enjoyed it! I loved how strong and independent she was throughout the film. I get so tired of the "damsel in distress" stereotype that so many movies have. It was refreshing to see her make her own way in the world and get things done. At the same time, I also appreciated that they didn't just make Moana a one-sided character. It wasn't all rejecting the roles placed on her. She saw the benefits of staying on the island and also the benefits of leaving. There was actual tension and thought in her decisions and reasons. I also really enjoyed Maui's backstory. Anyways, what were your thoughts on the movie?
I normally don't care about disney movies (this includes Frozen) but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Moana. the music was good and they were just spot on with writing the characters for the movie.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I loved Moana so much!!!!!! I especially loved how she tried to go along with what her parents said because she knew they were probably right, but it wasn't meant to be anyway. Idk why, I just loved that concept. Oh I also loved Maui and how he managed to change his ways.
Such a great movie. And the soundtrack is perfection. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to How Far I'll Go and We Know the Way.
I haven't even seen the movie yet and I have been listening to these two songs for the past couple of weeks  They are so good! ^^
I knew the soundtrack was going to be good once I saw Lin-Man's name on the ticket. I didn't know it was going to be that good.
I also like that they had realistic body types for people in this movie and did so on purpose. Moana doesn't have an absurd waist and Maui was actually large like many Polynesian men. My friend is obsessed with the soundtrack - well and anything Lin-Manuel Miranda is behind. Decent plot line, nice graphics, and good sound track. My opinion is likely to be biased seeing as I grew up and currently live in Polynesia. Fun fact: Even with a showing every hour or so, the theatre here sold out for two weeks straight. On the third week when I wanted to go initially, the back row was the only seats available.
I loved the movie When it was over I looked on youtube to find the soundtrack of "Shiny" and I sent it to my best friend to get her to watch the movie (which she did, yeah! :lol
