Being an avid reader, I sometimes enjoy seeing one of my favourite books turned into a film, (or a TV show). There's times where there this doesn't work (Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman into The Golden Compass), but I love seeing a successful adaptation.

My favourite is probably the Harry Potter films, but there are others that I enjoy, such as The Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit. What is your favourite book to film adaptation?

There's so many ways this could be broken down!

As for an adaption where the book and film are favourites of mine, Jurassic Park and the How to Train Your Dragon series (though that deviates almost completely from the books) spring to mind.

You have great taste there, Jurassic Park is one of my favourite films and I love the book aswell, although I haven't read or watched any of the How to Train your Dragon series.

Howl's Moving Castle. The castle itself is animated gorgeously.

I was gonna say that! I was just coming back to post it haha

Both the book and film are great, but the book is definitely better (for me) for having a complete plot and clear resolution, which was taken out of the film.

But I'm a bit biased because I've always loved Diana Wynne Jones - just look at my signature

    For me...it would be:

    The Godfather
    To Kill A Mockingbird
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
    Jurassic Park

Just to name a few so to speak.
