For me, my favourite band is Perfume. They are a Japanese synthpop band that debuted back in 2000, and they are still as popular as before. Perfume consists of 3 members called Kashiyuka, Nocchi and A-chan. I love Perfume because of their profound songs and complex choreographies, and I also love each member's personality and how none of them act fake because they are celebrities. I also really like their style and their futuristic outfits.

I love David Bowies music. It has so much depth to it and especially with the earlier albums the songs had such good lyrics, compared to nowadays music which seems to concentrate on relationships, partying or an ex boyfriend. Queen is another favourite as you just can't beat Bohemian Rhapsody. Definitely the greatest collab of music is Under Pressure...

Korn. The Birthday Massacre is a close second. No matter what song I listen to by either band, it ends up putting me in a better mood. Neither have a bad album, bad song or even an okay song (to me) which can't be said for any other artist that I like.

Korn has been my favorite band since 2005, so 12 years.

Kitchens of Distinction. They have a shoegazey kind of sound, and their songs are often very meaningful, although they do some simpler, fun songs as well.

Within Temptation. I love the adrenaline of heavy metal, the soft vocals and melody of gothic music, and listening to symphonic music to relax. WT managed to combine all three things together in a way that I never thought possible. They even have a song where they managed to throw in a hardcore rapper and that style into the mix. I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad I discovered them.

Isnt it cool how a band like Korn can put you in a better mood?

To answer the thread topic. Its hard for me to say since I like so many different types of music and so many bands

Not my fav band but I listened to Amon Amarth's Fate of Norns the other day for the first time in a few years and listening to the lyrics I almost teared up.

Queensryche. Lyrically the expanded my mind, and as a musician they never stop impressing me. Their songs can be very technical and yet so well-written. Geoff Tate's vocals from the 80s still makes my hair stand on end.

I have a favorite singer, does that count?

I absolutely love 90s pop-singer and anime voice actress, Megumi Hayashibara. She created and sang all of the theme songs to the entire "Slayers" fantasy anime franchise, as well as provided the voice for the lead character, Lina Inverse.

Megumi's music is particularly exciting, atmospheric, and fun because it exemplifies a special period in 90s music when pop merged with rock and had this grander sense of presence. The songs she created had a grandeur to them, but also a peppy spunk, with a wonderful style of instrumental layering. So much life, so much energy, as well as a sense of urgency. It's honestly rather hard to fully describe. But the two best examples are these two songs below, the top from "Slayers Great: the Movie," and the bottom from the OVA, "Slayers: Book of Spells."
