Now that it's official that Capaldi is stepping down, who would you like to see as the new Doctor? I've noticed that Tilda Swinton is a popular pick and I'd honestly love that,
Ohhh! Tilda Swinton would be good! I've wanted Michelle Gomez to play The Doctor- but given that she plays The Master...I don't think I'm going to be getting that wish anytime soon haha. Although my most feasible choice for the next Doctor would be Ben Whishaw. 90% for his acting ability, 10% for his butt.
Ben Whishaw would make an awesome doctor!!! Though I think if there were to be a female doctor, Emma Watson would awesome.
Same here. Hated Capaldi and didn't continue the series. Frankly I didn't like Clara (don't remember the actress' name) much either. David Tennant and Matt Smith, folks. Those guys rocked The Doctor. I can't think of anyone I'd like to see as the new Doctor. I'm ruined.
I personally wouldn't mind seeing Georgia Moffatt (David Tennant's wife) play the next doctor or maybe Daniel Radcliffe playing the doctor but i'm pretty sure he's mostly doing plays now.
Didn't Georgia Moffett play (the all be it artificial) doctor's daughter back in Tennant's reign? Pretty sure that would make for some pretty strange continuity (Although they brought Capaldi back so what do I know. Yes I am still annoyed about that xD) I feel Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and the like are all too well known imo. I think the next Doctor should be someone on the fringes, known only to people who've watched their stuff rather than known to everyone. This way I can embrace them as the Doctor more rather than always seeing them as someone else. That being said I think Tilda Swinton would make a great Doctor. For me the most important thing is who the next companion/companions are going to be. Because the last few have really sucked. I didn't like them being aliens, or Clara's cocky attitude and fanfiction like 'good at everything' powers. The companion should be the relatable one! Give me Donna any day.
Capaldi sucks in his first season, but he really brings it back in his second season. And I'm not just saying that because I got used to him, I've seen his first season again since and I still disliked him. Give him a chance.
I love Tennant, Smith, and Capaldi equally and am very excited for the future prospects of the show. Capaldi's doctor develops quite a bit the more you watch. I rejected him at first, but now I really appreciate the dimensions he brings to the character. Also, there is a lot with 12 that is alluding to classic series' regenerations. Honestly after watching 12's seasons (three times through) I believe they could not have picked a better actor to retain the authenticity of the character. I will be sad to see Capaldi go, but trust the show makers to bring us the right person for the job, as they have every time.
But I just got to really like Capaldi! Damn it! Oh well, not sure who for next doctor. Anyone who seems likely to do the role for a long time, cannot take anymore Doctors suddenly leaving.
In a way i was kinda hoping that they'd pull a David Tennant but since capaldi announced he's leaving it's most likely out of the question
All Doctors sign up for three seasons and it seems to have become tradition to leave after your third. Capaldi was offered an extension to his contract, but he declined.
I didn't like Capaldi until the River Song episode. He really pulled it off in that one, in my opinion. Of course, I love the River timeline.
