As a Korean, this is really heartwarming. 우리 사랑하는 나라 만세! https://www.reddit.com/r/GamerGhazi/comments/641zwn/marshall_bang_is_the_first_openly_gay_kpop_star/
안녕! This is cool. I lived in Korea for over 6 years and this ever happened. I hope he does well and will be a role model for others
6 years?? Cool! How did you find yourself there? Where did you live? Me, I spent some of my childhood in the motherland (Daejeon) but I've been born overseas and spent most of my life here so I'm a kyopo. Still following the general situation in the moguk, though. Have you heard about Hong Suk-cheon, who came out in 2000 and got totally blacklisted by the entertainment industry just for being gay? I couldn't be happier that there is some progress over there. Finally.
I lived in Namyangju (Hopyeong Dong) for 2 years,,, then I moved to Goyang (Ilsan) for 2 years and then the last years I spent in Seoul in Dobong Gu, Banghak Dong. I was an English teacher there in primary school and then in hagwons. I loved it there. It is part of my life and I have some of the best memories. I miss the snow and the delicious food I came to love. I miss the subway and the busses. I still communicate with friends there in Korean. I don't know Hong Suk-Cheon. I didn't follow KPop that much. My friends always told me Key (From Shinee) was gay but I didn't believe them. Korea really needs to make some progress for LGBT people.
