I have watched too many animes and most of the anime out there is crap. Cliches I can't stand: Harem Violent Tsunderes Accidental perverts Accidental perverts meet violent tsunderes Panty shots Brother complex: "Onii-chan.."*blushes (uggh) Transfer student Weird schools (Like magic schools for example) with no sensible safety regulations and the staff is useless "It's not even my final form" variety, aka, plot power. Flashbacks Inner monologue The power of nakama Long convos during battles Attack explaining "I'll protect you!!" Yelling each other's name during a fight: "Sasuke", "Naruto", "Sasuke!", "Naruto!", "SASUKEEEEE!!!", "NARUTOOOOO!!" "Mr. X, no, or should I say, Mr. Y" for dramatic effect. Some stockphrases "Nani..kore", "Omoshiroi", "ano..", "etou..", "kawaii", "sugoi"...I just hate the sound of those words "Humans are monster" trope in darker, edgier anime Physics defying tits
Some that I kind of dislike are: -even though the good guy has been getting their ass handed to them and when all hope seems lost they some how get a power boost and defeat the bad guy -the protagonist or good person gets beat up really bad but continue to get back up despite the clear difference in power because friendship
So basically you don't like anime... Cause I can't think of any recent anime I have watched that don't have any of those things in it.
One thing i just noticed that bothered me a lot was when something shocking happens and the camera switches between the faces of all the characters with the same expression on their faces one by one.
The only one that REALLY fucking bothers me are mid-fight powerups. Fairy Tail does this pretty much every single fight.
Keeping most lesbian relationships ambiguous (except for in trashy anime) because I've literally seen 6 maybe 7 tops anime with a non trashy gay romance
That reminds me of another trope I hate: the ability to make two characters have a will-they-or-won't-they relationship for 600 episodes and somehow think anybody gives a shit. Or how one or several female characters throw themselves at a male character and he just acts like they're insane or otherwise bats them away for no logical reason. Bonus points if the male character is a teenage boy.
Exactly! They think it makes the show "exciting" or gives it a "longer shelf life" when it's really just frustrating
Ranma½ was the fucking worst when it came to this. The worst. The entire series was basically nothing but that type of relationship between several characters and when it ended, it didn't resolve a single one. Not. A. Single. One.
Alright, well--this video pretty much just explained everything for me.
And Bleach, Bleach was terrible. In the end it felt like the author was writing a fanfiction of his own series. The main character became a super powered hybrid. I'm so glad it's over. I only watch Hetalia.
Bleach also had the trope where love is ignored. I mean, look at Orihime--she's throwing herself at Ichigo and he doesn't give a shit. She's goddamn adorable.
