Twitter for a YouTube channel - personal or no?

Sorry for the confusing title. My friend has a YouTube channel (discussing and analysing romance books) and he asked me whether his twitter should be more personal (use his name, face, blah) or not personal at all (just announcing videos and news, etc).

I've looked at loads of examples and I still don't know what to say.

Any ideas? Would an impersonal Twitter scare people off?
    Thanks!

I think it depends on the audience. Do they only come for the books, or do they also just like watching your friend? A personal page could certainly help him in becoming a YouTube personality.

Hmmm good point. He doesn't show himself in his vids so I guess the audience come for a mix of both, to see whether it's worth reading?
