    i am thinking about getting a lg cookie which dosnt have 3g but does have gprs. Will you get charged money for using gprs? If it does, how much does it cost?

    Yes, and lots. GPRS is what there was before 3G came out and it's still ridiculously expensive (on pay-as-you-go anyway). If you're getting it on contract see if you can find a contract that has it inclusive, although it is really slow so there's not that much point in it (think dial-up speeds). I'm on Orange Pay-as-you-go Dolphin and I think I get charged up to £2 a day for GPRS (with free access to Bebo, Myspace and Facebook).

    Best UK contract for data (i.e. GPRS or 3G) are the T-Mobile Web-N-Walk tariffs, but they're only any good for contracts if I remember correctly.

    The charges vary massively depending on the tariff you're on...
