Okay, so... I switched off my laptop, remembered something I'd forgotten to do, and switched it back on again. Upon switching it back on, everything on the screen is suddenly HUGE and half the icons have been swallowed up by the gargantuan start menu. Thinking I could deal with this, I changed the screen resolution from 800x600 to 1024x748, which has made things a bit more manageable, BUT: ->My screen is squashed and everything on it looks stretched horizontally ->My display settings won't let me change the resolution to anything except those two. -> Yes, I have tried restarting. Several times. So what should I doooooooooo?! :tears:
Try updating your graphics drivers. That's my best guess as of right now... But I'll probably think of something better soon, if that doesn't work. Update drivers --> restart
If you have the cds that came with the computer when you first got it, look for one that says drivers on it when you put it in, it will bring up a list of all the drivers for your type of computer, look for ones that say graphics. If it is anything like mine, when you click on it, it should have a button that says extract files click that and follow on screen instructions
If your laptop has the ATI graphics option download and install this: http://global-download.acer.com/GDF...pire&Step3=Aspire 5600&OS=X01&LC=en&SC=EMEA_1 And if it has the Intel option download and install this: http://global-download.acer.com/GDF...pire&Step3=Aspire 5600&OS=X01&LC=en&SC=EMEA_1 Hopefully that'll fix your problem.
