Good ideas for a LGBT teen play

Make an allegory? Like ex-gay therapy but with something else?

It'd be cheesy but it might be interesting.

Or perhaps a gay person who finds more acceptance in his clergy rather than his local LGBT group? Perhaps you could explore that aspect and shine a positive light to LGBT-open churches. It could focus on the inner biases of the LGBT community with a diverse audience.

How about a pregnant teenager who finds out her boyfriend is really gay, and then wants to abort the pregnancy out of fear that her child might inherit the "gayness"?

 

Do a gay version of moulin rouge!

Or a drama about glbt in prisons. Esp transsexual.

What if you did gay ALIENS?! Like an alien gets transported into a human body and he finds out his orientation on earth is gay, and he falls for a boy. And then it's time for him (or her) to go back to his planet but he's like nooooo, OR the aliens from his home planet go "oops you're supposed to be straight" and want to change his orientation but he's still like nooooooooooo.

you would need to come up with a reason why hes on earth though & why the aliens would want their peoples to be straight only.

How about a play in the 50's about these two guys who work on the countryside, and then they both realise they're gay and have buttsex in a tent by the river.

...Is it just me or does it seem like my idea's been used already?

Also, u could add that the girl found out because of the somewhat obvious blush the boy has whenever the math professor comes around.
Turnes out her bf and the math prof was doogy-dooging on the side.

I find this idea very intriguing.

 

Characters who just happen to be gay. Make the main plot of the play something else but have the romance be between two guys.

 

have a gay boy fall for a gay transman who is living stealth (not telling people he was born female... living a completely male life.) and they fall in love, but then the trannie's like "I don't have a dick" and the gay dude's like "Oh shit, can I date a guy without a dick? Will that make me less gay?"

very dramatic.

oh oh i here is an idea ...

sole hair to a massive empire turns out to be gay.
the church have massive influence over the empire and are not supportive of homosexuality, and want to use it to their advantage to gain the empire

so the prince and the king have to find a way to over throw the church.

 

How about a play about a gay guy who eats and sleeps like all other human beings?

 

How about something set in the past or in a very conservative. A gay teen gets wrongfully accused of sexually assaulting a girl, his alibi may not be very strong (he was home alone with no evidence to prove it or whatever) so the only thing that may save him is coming out. The happier moments that you want could maybe come from him coming out for the first time to a friend, and then they accept him and agree to fight for their cause etc. etc.

Or there's the complete opposite end of the spectrum where you could have something about a comparitively tiny trivial thing like asking someone out or talking to someone for the first time, like a one-act monologue (with maybe an anticlimactic ending like asking someone out and them saying "yeah sure" after you've watched the main character put him/herself through hell throughout the entire play to get here).

Well, those are my ideas at least :lol:
