heart gold and soul silver are going to be released in europe and north america come the spring of 2010. A return to generation 2 with jhoto and lugia and ho-oh.

    the upgrades include:
    -an expanded pokedex
-a new customizable safari zone at cianwood city (the one on the island on the bottom left of the map)
-the introduction of the pokewalker (a step counter that you can put the data of any pokemon in and it'll gain experience as you walk)
-any pokemon can follow you outside of battle (not just pikachu like in yellow version)
    -battle frontier
    -an area called "the pokelathon"

and that's about all I know so far. And yes, you get to visit Kanto too

that's true, but with the re-make, they're getting closer... I'm thinking that the safari zone will have a bunch of honen pokemon in it, so between diamond/peral/platinum and HG/SS, you can get everything

serebii is where I got the data from. They don't post it unless it's true, unless they mention that the info might be false

regardless, the pokelathon is supposed to be a series of minigames that you can have your pokemon participate in... hopefully they'll include the pokeomn contests from honen, cause those were the good ones ^.^ (well, maybe keep the ddr part from d/p/plt)

As much as I loved Pokemon Blue and Red and somewhat yellow... I believe it died right then. (I have Gold and Silver but I don't consider that to be something I'm proud of...)

That link sums up my feelings too, but as the game has evolved it's had some nice additions to gameplay.
Still, I'd love to see a Pokemon game with all regions available to explore. Though that'd be kinda hard to incorporate the way it was in Gold/Silver because Kanto and Jhoto are on the same land-mass, whereas all the other regions are on seperate islands..

Still, even if all the regions aren't in it, I'd love to see a LARGER MAP. It's so annoying that there's nothing to explore in all the towns and cities in the game. Final Fantasy games have truckloads of areas which aren't part of the storyline but have different extra storylines in them, whereas Pokemon games don't (with the exception of the legendary pokemon).

You know, I haven't played Pokemon in a while, so I started playing Yellow the other day.
    Guess who's addicted now?

Pokewalk will make it easy to level up.

I reckon they should make another 3d version where its more realistic, making them more animal like, life - like, you know? like the FF series soughta gameplay or make them able to attak whenever instead of taking turns.

Yeah, they do get repetitive. Are they ultimately the same? Probably. But at least each generation we get a slightly unique adventure and improved effects. amirite?

    Oh. And this:
