Most of you in the UK will know who Derren Brown is. For those among you who either live outside the UK or under a rock, he is a magician of sorts, specialising in mind tricks and applied psychology.

Tonight he ran a live show in which he showed the live lottery draw on the BBC (a different network from the one his show was on) with a set of balls sitting beside his television facing away from the camera, once the numbers had been drawn on the BBC, he turn the balls around to show the correct lottery numbers.

obviously, he correct and normal response to this is one of "what in the hell and how the fuck did he do this?"

Ugh I don't want to wait until Friday to find out how he did it. I bet it's fiendishly simple as usual.

I don't know. Sometimes, he just explains away his tricks with a bit of extremely specialised bit of meaningless babble. I mean, once he talked about "Neuro-linguistic-programming" as an explanation for one of his tricks; something he didn't bother explaining or validating.

He did promise "Don't worry, you won't learn how to win the lottery." So it seems that whatever he did won't be particularily reproduceable.
