Ellen new judge on idol?

I think it's great! I haven't watched in 2 seasons,(I guess I found it boring) but I'll definitely tune in now. Okay,at least ONCE,to see how she does.
I LOVE Ellen and I think she can help liven up AI.

Just because she's a lesbian I'm not going to support it.

She is NOT in the music industry and has no business being a judge. It's going to be a flop. Get Cyndi Lauper as a judge at least she will know HOW to judge.

 

You must remember theyre auditioning to be a Mainstream Sellout Idol.

 

I'll tune in to see how Ellen does.

Ellen, although she is a totally fierce power lesbian, is not all NOT a singer and a horrible judge.

Cue reel of horrible comments on SYTYCD with Ellen as a Guest Judge!

But yea, seriously, she is going to use humor too much. Sure, humor is nice every once in awhile, but if Ellen pulls out a badly scripted joke every time she has to judge someone and the ends with "but in all seriousness, i thought you were great" like i know she will, its going to be a train wreak. She is funny...but i dont think idol needs an overload of funny...it needs another seasoned, gay icon to take Paula's place.

Ellen + Music = Me Confused...

 

Oh jeez, guys, you ever think her not being in the music industry might be a GOOD thing?! She isn't a musician, songwriter, producer, or any of that, she can see it from a mainstream everyday person point-of-view. I think she would better represent the people that actually BUY the music, and not just the people who make it.

 

Well now I'll finally watch it. I love Ellen. I'm actually glad they picked someone from outside the music industry, now she can give the people's opinion and represent all the viewers at home before they are into the voting stage of the contest. And even if she does fail (even though I have the utmost faith in her), at least we'll be able to understand what the hell she's saying every week. I say it's a good move. Go Ellen!

 

I don't like it she has nothing to do with the music buissness there must be so many more qualified people around

yea but i think they could find someone else who has nothign to do with music to judge. this smacks of a demagraphic hit ... and my fear would be she would be to cheery and oh you were great dont be sad...and used as a comic relief character to lighten the mood...

 

I'm probably going to be linched for saying this but:

Ellen is too good for that show. It's just prepackage bubble gum pop.

 

I bet Ellen will do great on Idol.

 

Personally, I have nothing against Ellen, however she has no musical background. Sure, she loves music, but it's not good enough to be a judge. American Idol is going to pot. I love it to death, but come on people. Get someone in there that knows what they are doing.

 

Idol can have Ellen (I haven't watched it since season 2) I'll stick to AGT which imo is better

 

I agree. I hate Idol, and Ellen should be doing something worthwhile instead of an instant-washout-singer-show. Honestly.

 

It'll be something different. I like Ellen, so I think I'll enjoy having her on the show, but she'll probably be even worse than Paula when it comes to being way too nice to the awful singers.
