Movies or Scenes in films that make you cry, but probably shouldn't

I got this idea from when I was watching Happy Gilmore for the thousandth time the other day. Obviously its a comedy starring Adam Sandler. But theres a scene after Chubbs dies, when Happy is trying to think of a happy place to get him in the zone to play golf well, and Chubbs is in this heavenly happy place with both hands playing "We've Only Just Begun" by the Carpenters on the piano. And it makes me cry everytime. its like so sad for me. xD

Anyway, What are some movies and/or scenes that you guys cry in, even though it may or may not supposed to be sad, but be out of place in the film, because of the genre it is in ( like a comedy film). xD

I'll post more as I remember them.

I always cry watching Babe, specifically when the farmer starts singing to the wee pig to make him eat. I have no effin' idea why, because it's a farmer singing to a (probably animatronic) pig, and it's a happy sort of scene anyway.

    But tears.

    Every time.

Thanks, Universal studios, for making me weep over a pig puppet!

I know it isn't from a movie, but I honestly cried the first time I saw this commercial. I swear I have no idea why.

There are lots of movies that make me cry, and I've found that we all have different triggers in different films. If you dig around inside yourself, you'll find that the things that make you cry are connecting to something you were missing in childhood or something you're missing now... filmmakers know this and go for common themes that are likely to make many of us cry because they know that going to see a film that moves us emotionally is what brings people into the theater.

But there are lots of points in almost any film that can evoke different responses in different people.

When the dog gets kicked off the bridge in Anchorman. Its the most fake looking dog ever, but i cried the first time :frowning2: I hate it when animals die, almost more than people...

I'm almost 20 and I've seen that movie tens of times. I shouldn't cry over that.

Ummmm.....I guess only parts that are meant to evoke emotion make me cry. In reverse, I didn't shed a tear in "Marly & Me". Since the rest of the world did.

I know I did :frowning2: and the rest of the manly audience I was with in the dorm room xD (which was funny honestly) but I was sad because 1. I love dogs. 2. My dog is getting old and "that time" should be coming soon :frowning2: and other reasons for which i wont talk about.

I guess by the EIGHTH time it should have ended I was completely over the movie...oh and Owen Wilson. If it was just Jenn crying and the dog passing, I would have balled. No doubt.

But I'm taking this thread away from it's purpose. I'll disappear :smilewave

I love that scene! It's so happy for me, though. It's also funny how he lifts up both hands but the piano keeps playing.

This scene doesn't make me cry, but I find the end of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 to be very sad. They come back through time, end up dancing some more, exit the screen, and then we're left just watching the credits roll over the sewer. For me, it's like, what did they achieve? They're still down there, hiding forever, isolated from the world, going unappreciated. It's so sad to me.

It's not a movie, and I NEVER cry during movies, but this episode of the simpson made my eyes a little juicy.

The episode where Homer is telling the kids about Maggie's birth and how he had to give up his dream job to support the family.

In the end they ask why there are no pictures of Maggie in the photo album, to which Homer replies: "Oh there are pictures. I keep them where I need to most cheering up."

They show Homer's work station and it is covered wall to wall with pics of Maggie.
