So if you don't already know this, I love acting. I also love linguistics. And I especially (much to the chagrin of Helen) love accents. This woman in this video is amazing. I absolutely loved it! I love talking in accents, especially for improv, so I hope I can carry this through and cement some of my accents that I do. So far my best are French, Slavic, and Minnesotan. I can kind of do Irish and Japanese, but I have a horrible English one. So yeah. I hope this thread is in the right section. Or whatever. I never make threads. Baked beans.
old yes, and for the most part, pretty fine... but she cant grasp californian and washington accents at ALL... they come out just plain old midwestern and canadianish which makes sense cause shes from seattle xD but still a very good skill and video
Ha!! Love it! I had a thick Brooklyn accent as a kid that eventually dissolved away into some midwestern accent, and she definitely got that one down perfectly.
Meryl Streep is my personal star as far as brilliantly mastering many different accents and sounds. Her Julia Child is so incredibly close to Julia's own voice it's uncanny.
That requires a lot of talent to be able to do. I can do a ton of accents, but I really suck at some. Apparently, my strongest is my English accent, which is apparently from Southern England - one of my friends thought I was actually English when I spoke to him on mic in that accent (and only in that accent; I didn't show him my actual American accent xD).
Re: 21 accents in 2+ minutes—my new idol Meryl Streep is basically one of the best actresses ever. I love her.
Damn, My accent is so plain... haha. XD When you hear the California accent next to everyone it's just so... >_<
