That's hot, that's what that is.

Some people say I have emo hair, but I'm not trying to be emo.

But to answer your question: no, not really.

Yes? But that isn't necessarily bad. It depends on what you do with the emo "mystique".

More to the point, it is somewhere between punk and goth, closer to punk, with a distinct undercurrent of 80s hair metal, what with the androgeny and all. However, I think it would be labeled as emo by mostly everyone. Tone done the hair and makeup a tad, its pretty tame. And vaguely attractive, I must say.

Why do you ask? I've never heard Tokio Hotel's music, so I can't comment there, but at first google they seem to be firmly in the "pop" category, so I am skeptical regarding their style. Though at least it is varied: just poking around and the band can't seem to make up it's mind what their style is. One is in some cross of Axl Rose in the 80s and Gansta, another is just a due in a t-shirt who could be a metal band's drummer, and the other would be at home in a Seattle grunge band. The combo reminds me of Dead or Alive's lineup: the lead singer was this weird androgenite with huge hair and a heart-shaped eye patch while the rest of the band looked like a toned-down version of Def Leppard.

    No.

Emo is Bright eyes, the rites of spring, brand new, death cab for cutie, and so on.

Tokio Hotel and bands of similar looks and such is what I refer to as: pop. It's a mangled combination of goth, punk and emo.

I'd consider it dressed in the dark... but that's purely me.

No one in Germany styles themself that way. Purely because of the association to Tokio Hotel.
Most people in Germany HATE TH.

They aren't that well known in the USA, so it's pretty safe to walk around that without being associated with them.

They won VMA for best new artist last year
They're better known than most fans want to admit.

It's like with me and BoA. I don't want to admit that she failed in America, so I keep saying "Oh no, she's just not that known yet."

Foreign acts (as in, different language foreign) don't do too well in America.

Well... Utada was an example of that with exodus.

The only asian singer I like though is Ayumi Hamasaki, but she's getting too old to start a whole new career in another country. Possible, but media thrives off of youth.

I was dissapointed with Kerli.. she's Estonian.. I thought she might be the next big thing, but she isn't.

Looks like an emo guy trying to pass as an 80s hair metal guy.
