i found these instructions on a forum, seems a good project - seems unrealistic to work though:

    Supplies:
2 Digital Cameras (the crisper the display the better for your eyes)
    Developed Film Roll
    Infrard LEDs
    Balls of Steel
    Sun glasses
    TIn foil

THis all told cost me about 20 bucks.

Anyway, grab your Cameras and remove the battries, then the plastic, Try and salvage the LCDs AND the CMOS cameras.

get your camera, there should be a small pinkish plate on the back (or inside) pop that off and replace it with a small cut out of unexposed BUT developed film.

Set those aside and start assembling your Infrared Light.

This is done by drilling a series of small holes all around the glasses' frame, then by sticking the infrared LEDs through those holes. Use a dremel tool or something similar to cut a small groove all around the back of the frame (this is for the wire). Generally you will want to assmble these LED's in a series of no more than 5, so for 20 of them youll need a total of 4 circuits (90 can reach 60 feet in pitch black, so 20 will be more than enough).

after wiring it all together you shoud have 8 wires sticking out, if you chose a small wire ( and a decent frame) this whould fit all in the frame without any trouble.

Now, pop the glass out of the frame, take tha somwhere else, heat it up to the point you can poke a small hole in the very center of it. After doing so, set those aside to cool.

Assemble the Cmos camera directly to the LCD while making sure to add a nice size resistor on the backlight circuit (lcds only hrt your eyes because of the back light, or rather, thats the most aggravating part of it.)

dont sauldrr it yet, but do test it, try holding it up to an inch away from your eyes (you can use OLED's if you can get your hands on em, wont hurt at all)

anyway, you should wire it so that your lcd is followed by a thin sheet of tinfoil, followed by the glass, followed by the camera after assmbling, wire the power into a single wire that curls around the bar over your ear, it should go don down down your shirt to a bettery pack on your waist :3

If its on, you look like a freak, BUT, you can see through peoples clothes :0

This works because infrared can pass through the light fabric of most clothes but not flesh

    It's kinda bullshit. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I can't see what it's trying to do. It's putting out infrared light, which basically isn't going to be doing much unless you're trying to warm something up. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
The way infrared cameras do work is by picking up the infrared given off by a person, not by shining it onto them.
Stick with buying those X-Ray specs. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Well the infra-red idea works with Black clothing with white underneath. Here's a simple one to do at home. Phone camera and a TV remote. Point the TV remote at the camera and look at the screen. What do you see?!

That's because camera phones have crappy infrared filters. If you're destroying anything but the cheapest of digital cameras, they're bound to have something that works fairly well in getting rid of infrared.
Why are we drilling a hole in the glass and putting tin foil there?

Even easer way. Simple night vision camcorder. So long as you have something that will emit infra red light and something with out an IR filter it will work.

Work as in work under a rather limited range of circumstances and not all that well. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: It's really, how to put it, perverted anyway. This is why pornography exists. Sure it might not be exactly who you're looking for, but they've pretty much willingly taken their clothes off. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: So really, why do this when you have a computer with Internet access? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I call BS on that .. infrared LEDs do not pass clothing.
There are so called "nude scanners" which are being considered for airport security, but even with them the result is not what most people expect from "see through" tech
And those are huge bulky things, they probably wouldn't use them if they could just use some infrared LEDs, eh?
