I made a different thread but this is the poll section. So put your poll and why they're your favourite role model. (Things about them or things they've done that are positive).

Well i did say freddie based on the way he represents himself, but i CAN'T go past harvey milk.

  3. Whoa. MIND. BLOW. I somehow missed that Ian McKellen was gay. :O I love him. <3 (That has nothing whatsoever to do with his role in the LOTR movies... >.>)

As for a favorite, I couldn't really choose. But I'd like to throw one out there that isn't on your list: Oscar Wilde. He was an amazing writer, and had sexual affairs with men. So he's a role model and gay/bi.

You managed to list pretty much every gay person I love (well, there are a few on there I don't know or feel indifferent about, like Olivia and Adam). So hard!!! But I went with Neil Patrick Harris (was torn between him and Sir Ian) because I thought Neil would have less love at the end of this poll. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Ellen Degeneres doesn't talk about LBGT issues on her show at all and I don't like it so I went with Harvey Milk, despite the fact that he was a republican

i have to go with olivia wilde, although i love neil patrick harris. but i like him as barney, who's straight so it doesn't really count. and olivia's actually straight but played 13 and Alex Kelly. Those two characters opened the concept of bisexuality for me. and She's the first woman i've ever been attracted to so...

the republican party was different in the late 70's, compared to how it is today.

I picked Leonardo da Vinci because he was an amazing scholar. Plus I don't really feel like I can (nor do I want to in some cases) relate to any modern famous gay people. I suppose if I had to, I might choose Ellen Degeneres.

I picked Harvey Milk. The things he did for gays back in the 1970's were immeasurable. We really need someone like him now.

I sighed when i saw the this thread, knowing that it would not include my choice :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Greggers. Wants. John Barrowman.

    And Gavin Creel.

    And Johnathan Groff.

    And Nathan Lane.

And if we can include fictional characters, the list is ALOT longer...

  13. From the list, Adam Lambert and Ellen DeGeneres. (voted for Adam, though)

Not from the list, screenwriters Kevin Williamson and Don Mancini.

Well I think she broke a mold that the world had. It had negative views on gay people up until Ellen and a few others. She helped the world view queer people differently. She keeps things light, entertaining, and helps to talk about some gay issues on her show and at ceremonies.

Plus she married her wife in 2008 before Prop 8 passed. It shows that we need happiness too.
