Ok, so lately I have been in the mood to watch a movie that will give me a good cry. I dont know why, but I would love some suggestions for really good tear jerkers.

Some movies that made me cry:
-Crash (when I watched this several years ago, I didn't realize other races had it so bad. It made me sad and angry)
-LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring (I'm sorry... but when characters die... :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)
    -Seven
    -Blindness

This is kind of odd and I probably have a weird taste in movies that make me cry and I'm not sure you would call it a tear jerker but The Green Mile always makes be bawl my eyes out, and I don't cry easy but I just feel so sorry for the guy!

a couple of older, but powerful films

-- Good Will Hunting. The climactic scene between Robin Williams and Matt Damon makes most people go through a half box of kleenex.

-- Prayers for Bobby. A full-box movie for many.

-- It's a Wonderful Life. A really old (1940s) classic, still an amazing and powerful story by brilliant director Frank Capra.

the most emotionally intense movie i have ever seen (in fiction anyway) - Seven Pounds

make absolutely sure you know nothing about the plot before watching it, that makes a major difference.

if you don't cry, you are more of a robot than me, i cried rivers.

Beauty and The Beast: Yes, I know it's a Disney movie, but I always cry when the Beast dies, and Belle is sobbing and says "I love you..." :tears::tears::tears:

Brokeback Mountain: Kinda hard not to cry, isn't it.

Milk: It's hard not to cry during this movie, too.

The Notebook: I bawled like a baby throughout the whole movie.

    Death Sentence

Starring Kevin Bacon. It's a "Death Wish" related story, (A man watches as killers of his family get away with murder, the cops can't do anything about it, so the man (or woman in the case of The Brave One) attempts to seek revenge on all the people involved in his loved ones' murders). This one is just so fucking sad though, I haven't cried so much in a film.

Schindler's List, immensely sad, but it didn't really make me cry. I mean, it just speaks for itself I guess.

    Requiem For a Dream.

The whole movie is just crazy and a trip, watching these people spiral down into almost nothing is really horrible though, especially the end (which I won't spoil). I cried.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Although quirky and funny at times, I find the whole idea of the movie to be really sad, especially the end.

  15. Definitely gonna agree with Crash and Requiem for a Dream. Good ones.

I always cry in The Land Before Time. Just the mention of it, and I involuntarily inhale like I'm about to burst into tears.

I also cried during Boys on the Side, Carrie, Sophie's Choice, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and Monster.

I'm a huge fan of The Sky is Falling. It's an indie film and it was a pain in the ass to find (we had to buy it from some guy in South Korea), but oh god. I cry every time I see it and then the end makes me feel so awesome.

I wish it were easier to find! I'd tell my friends to watch it if I knew they could actually get it anywhere. =(

For me, Grave of the Fireflies was ridiculously sad. It's a Japanese animated movie, set during WWII. The story is about two orphans and what they have to do to survive. Its message has nothing to do with who was right or wrong in the war; it is just hugely anti-war overall. VERY VERY sad movie. (Just make sure to avoid the live action version at all costs.)

I cry during the Cheerios commercial (the box says “Shut up Steve”), so I really can't recommend movies or we'll be here all day.

I recently watch Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium again though so I'll recommend it. It still gets me when he "departs".
