^ This. Seriously. As someone who has dyed my hair many times, I learned it the hard way. To answer your question, no it doesn't look brassy. It's what I'd call strawberry blonde.
Well, thanks. I hate my natural hair color, it's like a medium-light brown, but I look plain. I want to go back to blonde, which I done but it was more highlighted. However I want it too look different than typical blonde.

I feel the same way about my brown hair! I look dreadful when I leave it brown, all washed out and drab. I dye my hair blonde because I really DO have more fun as blonde (if only because it looks better on me). If you are doing it yourself, be very careful what kind of 'tone' you choose. I always have to use Ash-tone because I have a slight reddish-tinge to my hair that makes it orange when I use any other variety of dye! Blondes FTW.

I don't think it looks brassy. However, as someone who shares that boring light brown hair color (and trust me, I fully understand how you feel about it, haha), I'd still never go blond. I personally don't like bottle blondes. It's too cliche (it's the color that EVERYONE dyes their hair) and it gets really old after seeing way too many of them. But hey, if it's what you want, go for it.
