This quiet film looks like it could be quite good. It so far has slipped under my radar, but I think I'll definitely have to add it to my must see, either in the theater or on DVD later.

Exactly why I want to see it.
Too bad I haven't seen many commercials/much promotion for it...so doubt it will do well theatrically.

if only they'd STOP trying to de-gayify it...
the newer trailers, the posters... they're all making it seem like it's a normal straight movie

they did the same exact thing with Brokeback Mountain actually, so it's no surprise, the academy should be ready for the actual movie, NOT something the people want the academy to see :bang:

I'm excited though, it looks like a very beautiful and artistic movie, should be good :]

Actually, I think "de-gayifying" it is a very bold move on the part of the studios. Granted, I doubt it will do well in the end but some people who wouldn't watch it otherwise will probably go see the film because it's "straight." And it might even change some opinions.

They de-gayed the promotion part. Not the movie. The movie is still pretty gay!

oh I know that, Brokeback Mountain was pretty gay after all too :icon_wink

it's still gonna be on limited release, so that already narrows down the amount of money it's going to make as is :/

It has a limited release because of the Oscars. It's an unwritten rule. Every movie considered for an Oscar should have limited release. They did the same thing with BBM too.
