Favorite character definitely Karen. LOVED seasons 1-6, but 7-8 was just average (it's no wonder I keep watching the first 6 seasons over and over again, and I keep the final two in my drawer waiting).
My favourite character is Will. One of my fav episodes is with the guest appearance of Michael Douglas as a gay police officer hitting on Will.
I think the dynamics among all the characters are hilarious. I'd probably choose Will or Grace as my favourite characters although Jack and Karen are amusing too. I grew up watching this show and never get tired of it. There are tons of clips on youtube to rewatch too which is great.
Yeah..same..i'd say Will is my favorite..and his sarcasm..i'm running through all of the seasons with netflix..just finished season 3 last nite..lookin foward to season 4
Ill start with dislikes, because i have quite a few The fact that Will and Jack are soooo de-sexualized (for the most part; It did get better near the end) is my biggest. Grace is "getting her man on" the entire time while Will self-hates and Jack just acts really, really gay. Its funny and all, but I think it was alot more "safe" than people think. Ill admit i have not seen too much of the last few seasons, but apparently Will gets a serious boyfriend? That would have been a nice change. Didnt it take like 6 seasons or something for him to actually kiss a guy? But I do love the show and watch it often. I love Karen and she makes the show worth watching just to see her. I think Jack is hilarious and it was nice to see someone like him become a father and show some more serious sides of him, they could have easily just done that for Will. I thought the chemistry between everyone worked great. The writing was normally spot on too. But really, the show to me was just "The gay 'Friends'". It was not this huge major amazing groundbreaking show imo. That would have to go to Queer as Folk. The UK version aired before/around the same time as the beginning of Will and Grace and i do believe it would have still aired in the US without Will and Grace.
Not quite... Will kissed Jack in season 2 (I tried to find the video on youtube... it was there a month ago) after Jack was really disappointed two gay characters didn't kiss on a sitcom they watched.
Well if you think of Jack as a guy..then no..actually Will kissed him in season two when the "First Gay Kiss on Cable TV" ..whatever episode that was in..was supposed to happen and Jack started ranting about it when they cut to the fireplace instead of showing it..they were staging a good morning america show when Will kissed him.
I loved the first 3 seasons. I thought s4 was okay too, but I don't care much for the show after that point. During the last half of the show, Jack and Karen became caricatures of themselves and it became way too focused on guest stars. I fould that the charm of the early years was gone and with the exception of very few episodes, it never returned.
Will: The last thing I need in my life right now is somebody else's drama [Grace opens door to reveal Jack] Jack: My wife is cheating on me, my life is ruined, Will help me! Grace: Enter the drama queen, exit the neighbor. [Grace exits] Jack: Can you believe this? She wants to divorce me and marry Gardener! I'm out on the street! Will: That's shocking. Is there any way you can tell me about this without screeching like a howler monkey? Jack: [extremely high pitched] You know what, I don't need you! I have plenty of friends who would be more than happy to help me through this! Goodbye! [Long pause, neither moves] Will: You don't even pretend to leave anymore, do you? ..only one of my many favorite scenes..hehe [Playing poker] Will: Don't you know that a Queen always beats a Straight? and another..the puns are just worked wonderfully into each episode.
