That'll actually surprise me. I'm pretty sure The Hurt Locker is gonna take that.
But, I'll be happy. At least TDK wasn't in that catagory last year.

I'd be Okay with The Hurt Locker winning, even though I have yet to see it, but I want to. I'll be alright with any other movie on that list besides Avatar winning, but Inglourious Basterds should win v_v

I think the only real competition in it is Locker, Inglorious and Avatar. Maybe Up in the Air, too, but that as a win may surprise me. Gahd, you are your Avatar hate. >:l

Did you just see the QT interview?

And I'm really loving this honoring of Martin Scorsese... h'es at the very least in my top 5 favorite directors of all time, if not my #1..

I'm glad Meryl Streep (<3), John Lithgow (sp?) and my beloved Michael C. Hall won.

Toni Collette won for best female actor in a TV series right? for US of Tara? I'm pretty sure I read that she won it but I want to be sure. She ABSOLUTELY deserves it, she plays 4 characters in one body, it's brilliant! And her character has an adorable gay son.

I'm happy for Glee & Avatar.

I know people think he's a dick, but I love James Cameron.

Sigourney was the only nomination from the movie, though.
And Drew totally deserved it over her, but both performances were great.

I was surprised Jane Lynch lost for Glee though, I thought that was nearly a lock.

  17. So did anybody else absolutely love Ricky Gervais as the host? He was the best part of the show for me. That Irish stereotype/Colin Farrell joke was hilarious.

Anyway, here are some more things I liked this year:

    - Meryl Streep winning for Julie & Julia
    - Mo'Nique winning for Precious
    - Martin Scorsese tribute

    Things I didn't like:

    - Avatar winning Best Picture and Best Director. I liked the movie a lot, but jeebus, it's not THAT great. Both Precious and Up in the Air were better movies. I'm sure the other nominees were, too.
    - Drew Barrymore beating Sigourney Weaver for best TV movie/mini-series actress. I like Drew Barrymore A LOT, and even though Prayers for Bobby is a flawed movie, Weaver is just phenomenal in it. I think she deserved it more.

Overall, I thought it was a good show.

I mostly agree, except for your dislikes (No offense, of course).
James Cameron compleatly deserved his BD award. The time, patience, work and energy he puts into his films is absolutley incredible. I would have been a bit upset if someone else won.
As for Drew Barrymore, I think she deserved it. As did Jessica Lange, who was phenomenal. Sigourney Weaver was my 3rd.

  20. The only nominee I actually saw out of all the Best Picture ones was Avatar. But I really didn't want Inglourious Basterds to win, only because every time it's nomination for anything was mentioned, the director got an 'I'm going to win' look on his face. >_>

Anyways, yay for Sandra Bullock! Even though I also LOVED Emily Blunt in The Young Victoria. And I'm not going to lie, I squee'd very loudly when Glee won and got very upset when Jane Lynch did not.
