Gosh I haven't seen that movie in so long. I love the twists and the final scene goes pretty damn well with the music.
Best... ending... ever. Well one of them anyway. DON'T WATCH IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE! It'll ruin part of the twist!
Fight Club is indeed F'ing genius. It's a rare example of an amazing film to come out of our era; not many such films have. More than that, though, I love the way the film plays with its message (warning: the part bellow reveals moderate spoilers about Fight Club. Highlight it to read it, but don't highlight it if you don't want to have most of the movie spoiled for you.) In the beginning, the film starts as being against everything civilization has become, seeming to promote less spending, more freedom, more independence, and more of the things that most of us like in theory but are too afraid to pursue. And yet, after Tyler crashes the car, the movie shifts. It becomes a warning against anarchy, for as the Narrator discovers, once you start anarchy, you can't control it; it becomes its own independent beast. I also like how the film first presents Tyler as an alpha male, über mensch figure, the kind of person one would like to follow, and then shows just what following him has turned the members of Project Mayhem into: drones. Yep, by trying to escape white-collar slavery, they simply entered a new form of slavery: blindly following someone. It's the juxtaposition of those messages that I love so much; the fact that the film starts with one message and then almost chastises you for believing it. And it's just an incredibly well made film.
