metal fans??

I am totally obsessed with white gold. it is like the best of both worlds!!! It is silvery, but unlike silver, it does not turn my skin black!!!!

mercury is a close second, but only when handled poperly. it is hypnotic.

Mostly into progressive, power and symphonic metal, but I'll listen to pretty much anything. Favourite band? Dream Theater

 

I love metal to death. I listen to more punk and alternative, but metal is my third favourite genre. My favourite metal band is Alice In Chains.

 

Hmm, I'd count myself as a casual fan; Apocalyptica and HIM come to mind

I consider them to be metal in style. Grunge is a movement in my opinion.

 

I like a couple songs but they're generally not my thing.

My girlfriend loves metal though. ..and yet looking at her you wouldn't think she was one either.

Omg. Haha. When I saw the topic was metal fans, I thought of metal fans, as in fans made of metal. I thought this was going to be some thread on like fighting styles, or T.V/Game references. Yea, my mind works in strange ways.

I like metal, but not hardcore.

 

My favourite metal would have to be manganese, the MANLY ELEMENT! Also, it has pretty colours for its oxidation states. You can't argue with that awesome purple of Mn(VII).

On the topic of metal as music, nope not really at all. One song here or there, but the genre as a whole doesn't do much for me.

Big metal fan here. I'm not into much of the new stuff that comes out these days, the kind where people just scream and/or growl into a mic; if you aren't going to let us understand your lyrics, why even write them? That said, I am a big fan of the older stuff.

My favorite metal bands:
Metallica (particularly Master of Puppets and ...And Justice for All, though I like some of Ride the Lightning and the black album)
Iron Maiden
Mastodon (though I prefer their more prog-leaning songs to their more metal-leaning songs)
Slayer (yes, their music is very repetitive, but I still like it)
Dream Theater (which people seem to think of as metal, but I see them as more prog than metal)

Probably others, genres are so very confusing most bands could be labled a few dif things all depending on opinions.

 

I forgot to add my favorite power-metal guilty pleasure to the list: Dragonforce. Granted, I have only heard a few of their songs, but I enjoy some of them greatly.

I like metal. Metalcore is more what I listen to, ie bleeding through, bring me the horizon, etc, but I also looove The Agonist, Arch Enemy and Otep
